Either way, ult whenever because its always a good time Nunu: almost always 75% - full health and should have a point in blood boil for extra movement speed / power. Add on his natural tankiness and maxed ice ball and then make a personal judgment if you can kill him. Basically again, any time you're comfortable is a good enough time to ult on him. Is Garen really that OP/bs? He had nothing but FoN/SC/Boots3 and was spinning me for almost half my health when I had 140 armour and we were all around lvl 16ish. Why does this hero have so much damage/cc/burst/ms/dr? -_-

Why does this hero have so much damage/cc/burst/ms/dr? -_- garen is honestly the most frustrating and op hero to play against (well, ones that dont have a brain edema that is, even then...). The retarded amounts of dmg that he does with no items is one of the silliest things ever, and their recent 'nerf' of him was a joke. With him, its honestly not a metagame issue, the hero itself is so broken that he is literally banned every ranked game ive played in recent memory, and whats the most frustrating for me is that i hate playing him, even when i do well, since it leaves a bad taste in my mouth, and he is so stupidly easy to play, you literally just smash q,w,e whenever they are up and watch hp bars for some r ks'ing. easily the most boring hero ever. edit: wat mog said is really the only thing you can do against him, that and call for ganks

Get deny, start denying when creeps spawn!!! - this is important, when it reaches the tower you should be able to get a second creep down, this will cause creeps to be near tower, last hit creeps with parrley since u aint going to be attacking him and he can just regen his health b. Gangplank isn't a melee hero per say. Very common mistake, I know many people are like yaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrr, grog-soaked blade so sexy, but he doesn't have enough health/armor to melee unless you build him tankplank.

I hate being forced to play passively, but I guess GP vs Garen will have me doing just that. For "competitive" LoL (meaning serious matches), is having a jungler required to win? From what I've seen of this game so far it seems that having a jungler is such an advantage it's only countered by their team having a jungler as well. Is this an accurate assessment?

I think atm its poorly optimized for being run on a mac system, i run it on a macbook pro (older model, got it just before unibodies came out). It runs great on my windows partition, i dont have to close the lol client to get good fps, but on mac i get like 20 fps, which isnt really acceptable. The only weird thing, is that one time i tried ending the pvp.net client in hopes of increasing fps (which broke everything btw, i dont recommend), but somehow when i restarted lol, my fps went to a stable 60, which i found odd, esp since i tried another game and got 20 fps again. Also, the pvp net client crashes after every game i finish. However, this could all be chalked up to be being on 10.5 instead of 10.6, but i find that a bit unlikely (altho i know for sure that lol wont work on 10.4) Also, i really gotta get rid of osx's pesky mouse acceleration, but thats not riot's fault.

https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0Ap_dIx3CgK3adFNUeDZkeHJVUUlwUDRYU1pZUDJlUWc&hl=en#gid=0 All runes and their values and useful information (How much all the quints do or what % of dmg comes from quints if you're using 30 runes of +dmg etc) I've been wondering about Wisdom Quintessences for a while now (+xp quints), especially since I main GP. I've always thought of the idea being able to hit levels faster as being borderline OP (Ashe vs Ashe I ECA before you can GG?) but the real comment that made me consider them again is the idea that Wisdom Quints make all your scaling runes better, because you hit their max value faster. Playing a hero like GP where I need to get a minimum of 30 MP5/L and need to hit lvl 3 asap before I can start really dominating my lane has made me wonder if Swiftness Quints are really the best option. Also, has anyone done any math on XP values? In this thread: http://runeterra.com/forums/index.php?topic=752.0 Which talks about the Awareness Mastery (+5% XP Gain) and Wisdom Quints. There are some hard numbers for XP gained from creeps and jungle camps, is this information accurate? Is there a public formula for how creep XP goes up over time?
