Traits and Medallions are completely against what BLC was. Instead of even ground for competition there are traits = talents, medallions, and gems that you socket into things. You have no way of knowing what gear your opponent has or which talents he uses. Cast speed and cooldown reductions make it impossible to predict actions of you opponents. Very sad to see the original design abandoned in favor of farming (yeah, there are some people who actually want to farm) and gimmicky progress.

They completely ruined the game. Both uncertainty going into the game about what your opponents skills are, and the fact that money now equals more success in the game. Very glad I never bought the game, upset that I put so much time into it though, was fun but it's really annoying to have played for so long, actually got decent and then just have all of the fun of the game ripped away from me by dirty money-grabbing developers.

Well I don't blame them, they have to make some money to get by, but it's Funcom's fault for not providing enough support and advertisement and (probably) forcing them to change it to some more profitable model (hurr durr).

Maybe but I don't see how this is a long term solution, I don't know exactly how other people are going to react but a change this dumb and ridiculous is not going to have me playing the game.

Is the US population any higher now than it was a few months ago? I played this game for a couple of weeks but high ping times on European servers were extremely frustrating.

It's probably the same, if you aren't east coast, don't bother. They merged the queues with options to prioritize or even exclude one of the regions.

Getting solid US Match Making queues still, 2v2 and 3v3 are not too active, I hope they fix the bugs tweak the numbers and release onto steam off of this patch, because I fear when the queues get split into the rated it may equal long ass queues.

Oh well, I decided to try BLC after a long time. I always thought it had a great future into eSports, but it looks like the newest patch just ruined it. T_T
Character customization destroyed so many games, and now Funncon decided to add it into BLC. :{

RIP BLC. I guess we must wait for Diablo 3.

so i came to this thread to post about how i thought bloodline champions was an awesome game that didn't hold your hand and had a very high skill cap, essentially a perfect game for competition of it's kind

then i read a few posts and find out that they added things to get rid of the perfect competition it once had

now im kinda sad
What they say: "I'm gonna play support!" What they mean: "I'm gonna feed all game!"

It was an awesome game during beta and a few months after release.
They pretty much had the perfect concept for competitive MOBAs, but people were driven away because they announced it to be released for a ridiculous price, so a lot of players quit during beta.

Then it was released for "free", but Funncon never tried to advertise it and spread the word, so it became a small game and now they are trying to bring more people by adding those funny features that LoL had success with. But they don't realise that LoL has a lot of players because of it's game concept. <_<

Started playing in June and just recently started to get a hang of things, and now they ruined it. I liked the fact it was so skill based and that everyone played under the exact same conditions without any (major) random factors. Oh well, I'll just be waiting for Diablo 3.

Can't believe they actually managed to screw this game up.

Had the potential to be the perfect arena PvP game, then they had a stupid business model which put a lot of people off (me included). And finally they kill it off with this patch...

Hopefully someday in the future someone will make this game and do it right...

But after how badly Arena.net messed up Guild Wars and then there was Fury (LOL) and now this I'm not hopeful. Shame.

So much crying about traits/medallions here. They're not a big deal. They don't make up for bad play, they slightly highlight your chosen playstyle. The top players all have no problem with it, but everyone else seems to be bawling their eyes out for no real reason.

A good player will outplay someone worse than him regardless if he has gems or not. A bad player will lose to a good player even if he's gemmed out and the opponent isn't. The core gameplay didn't change, there are just more possibilities now.

If people that play the game at a professional level don't have a problem with the system, I don't see how everyone else manages to get so pissed off about it.
