I guess it gives a lot of balance time using DLC and shit before they release on arcade (if they plan to) does anyone know if that's the idea? PS- Magneto = deckard cain What they should just do is have arcade machines that can plug in ethernet in order to keep a score/record of players with 3 digit names and passwords. So that any arcade you go to you will have your stats but have lan play (only internet is used to record data/save reps) And also they can be updated from the internet. Or they should just have free patches to DL from a computer and you can just stick a flash drive in somewhere to update. They could make extra money too by having a viewing machine where people could pop quarters in and watch reps for 3 minutes or something.

I hope CF comes to some kind of agreement to renew the lease because I would hate to see that place really go under. Here's to hoping the rumor mill is wrong this time around

Here's to hoping the rumor mill is wrong this time around Newest update has been that they're moving to Brooklyn. A little lame cause it's current location really is awesome. Also one general trend I observe against people I play is a reluctance to assist. I don't think I ever lose to people who don't use their assists because assist placing is such a huge tool in offense and defense. Marvel isn't KoF where your team just goes in a la gauntlet style. If your team doesn't compliment each other with their assists/style, you are ultimately going to be limited. For example, my most often used team is Morrigan/Trish/Sentinel. Morrigan anti air pins targets down for both Trish and Sentinel. Trish's voltage is good for Morrigan's pressure game and Sentinel's beam spam. Sentinel drone squad charge both allows great crossup for Trish and Morrigan as well as continuous pressure. The first thing you should do at trying out your characters is trying each of their assists. It takes like two minutes in the training room and helps you VASTLY more than learning a combo. Online fighting game competition is pure garbage. Considering how frame sensitive they are, most top players do not consider online records at all serious. Fuzzy guard (high low mixup within frames) are unblockables in those games, crossups become much more dominant than they should be, etc etc. The list can go on. Basically arcades should be kept the way they are. The very fact that Japan is trying to make them internet reliant (in much the same way you described actually) to crack down on piracy sucks hard IMO.

anyone read this? i thought it was interesting. they talk about complaining, balance, and even mention games like starcraft and mw2. do you think some strategies, sentinel, or xfactor make this game too easy or will the game be figured out over time. i found it a good read coz it reminded me of balance complaining in sc2, even though fighting games are completely different from rts

Does everyone not like getting the same guns? edit- ok noob tubes I think xfactor and everyone having low hp makes the game easier to balance.

From what I know its a pirated Xbox 360 version, which pretty much means no DLC characters foreeeeeeeeeeeever unless they stop being cheapskates. Pretty sure that even if Capcom releases an Arcade machine, only Timezone will get it (and timezone sucks ass for FG's except Tekken). For any Filipino lurking in this thread, There's only one Timezone here as far as I know that has some decent FG scene outside tekken which is Timezone Robinson's Galleria for MvC2 So.. ya, still wish it comes out for the 'cades though

MvC3 is a console only game and will probably never be in arcades. So yes we hope to expect them to actually make balance changes and DLC is 100%, esp knowing shuma and jill exist already.

Basically, player lobbies in MvC2 on XBL was 10x better, not as much button lag and you could actually observe matches. Been finding that it's simply better to go into training mode or arcade and get fight requests because match making or searching just seems completely terrible, 90% of the time it says I can't connect. Anyways, MvC3 is a joke online, MvC2 did it much better and they are practically built in a similar way, MvC3 has slightly more features but just doesn't execute it well.

Do not expect it to change. And do not expect Terrans to win even with this stuff. It's not just a trend - it was inevitable. After all of these nerfs to Terran, not addressing Zerg's late game macro, which always has been invincible...

I do think Sentinel will prove to be too strong, or at least one of the strongest 2-3 characters, because his stats are too high and his assists are godlike. His only possible downside is his size, which matters a lot less in MvC3 because most combos will take the majority of his health regardless, so adding a couple infinites or 100k here and there isn't a huge deal. Anyway, even if the characters are balanced, the game isn't. X-Factor and the high damage overall make it a slightly less balanced game for competitive play. For a game to be competitively balanced, it needs a wide skill gap, and that's why you also hear some people say stuff like Quake Live is more balanced than UT, or like, chess is more balanced than tic-tac-toe. It's cool to see all these characters being viable again, but the gameplay has taken a hit as a result of it being less technical.

Any suggestions on a good Assist that might help me get him off my back so I can make some ground again, he likes to use akuma with Shryouken assist thing (not sure the name) when i use advance guard to make some ground. Thanks ![]() For reference I'm using Dr Doom/Dante/IronMan (swap in Zero for Dante some times)
