It's the standard (623) shoryuken motion. Which is to say, yes it's different than SFIV since the SFIV shortcuts (323) won't work anymore and you actually have to put in the correct input.

it's not character dependent lol, the "shoryuken motion" is forward, down, down-forward. that motion exists in this game and does not change to something else magically if you're playing someone besides ryu
and yeah, tien is right. if you don't know what he means by 623, look at the numpad on your keyboard. 6, 2, 3. in ssf4 you can just mash 33p33p3pp3p3pp333pp3p3p3p3p3p33pp3p3p3p3p and get dp ALL FUCKIN' DAY <3

Oh wow I didn't know they streamlined the shortcuts THAT much to just do 33p

I get trouble doing the DP motion sometimes cuz the bulk of my SF4 games are played on keyboard on my PC or on a fight stick at arcades, so on a pad, doing DP is troublesome, so if i do walkforward QCF that obviously is the same buffer as F>QCF.
I'll be honest a reason I like X-23 a lot is cuz her motions are primarily QCF motions and one HCF to do her neckslice attack/infinite. Plus the QCF+ATK's super is better than DP+ATK's super.

you have no idea man ssf4 would piss me off with it shortcuts just because id be dong some c.normal and cancel it into some kind of qcf move and id get a dp because i was pressing df insteadof just d. while linking together stuff BLEH.
But marvel is MARVELOUS in that it demands 'accurate' inputs and you can do that at a reasonable speed. none of this 60 inputs for a 4 hit combo into ultra link, IM LOOKING AT YOU IBUKI AND VIPER.
When its all said and done though it feels good to do it, if anything I'm just not used to the whole attacking with assists and juggle system as I thought id be. It's my first time really digging into the vs series (aside from playing a scrubby team scrub in MvC2) and it gets pretty overwhelming when I try and narrow down my choices I have in a match.
Chinatown Fair is closing T.T that is the worst possible news for the arcade scene in America no doubt. Wow thats really really too bad...ugh...Way bigger news than even AI closing was

The arcade scene is pretty much dead regardless. It was just a matter of time.
I've was reading the strategy guide for the game and came across this for Jill, " Jill's objective is to establish close range and stage a varied attack. She has access to a PRACTICAL infinite combo. This combo works off of all her strongest attack openings. This means any stray mix-up hit can lead to a knock out"! Not sure how I feel about that plus the combo doesn't even seem that hard to pull off its just down down plus special attack, feral L cancel down down plus special attack etc repeat.

I don't see an infinite in the video. Also i believe this is the data on the disk so technically capcom still has time to fix it if they find one.
Oh no that video is just something someone recorded because they cracked their PS3 verison of the game. I'm just sharing what it says in the official strategy guide.

I think what he ment, was that some other characters have dragon punch-like specials with different motions.
I think Wolverine's Tornado claw was a backwards Shoryuken motion, C.Viper has the upwards thunder knuckle which is a QCF, I think theres some others...
For some reason while playing mvc3 I started thinking about how much more fun it would be to be playing it in an arcade, then kind of drifted down memory lane back to as a kid when there was an arcade on every corner, in every mall, even grocery stores would have 8-10 games, now the closest thing to an arcade we have here is a bowling ally 20miles away that has 5-6 games. Were they really so unprofitable? Cause I remember they were always crazy over crowded and 20+ people lines waiting to challenge the winner of the next Tekken, MK, SF game.
Any xbox 360 bros out there with this game? My friends list is almost entirely Halo kids, so I never have anyone online to play with :[ And until Capcom patches the match finder (or whatever the problem is, that they supposedly know about already and are working on), I'd rather not spend 15 minutes searching for a match.
