His spear is god-awful annoying at the beginning of the game. His stun is a nice version of Jax' leap, but I think its range is worse? His ult is very nice, if used in a proper team. I'm thinking a team with Gangplank + Fiddle + TF + Pantheon. You can't avoid it. Like, even with a team not like that, I noticed his ult was landing on half our team every teamfight, because in a teamfight the process of moving drains precious seconds, and especially if they have other AoE stuff it complicates matters. For instance we played against a team with Gang + Panth and if they both stacked their AoE on top of us it was very difficult to avoid *both.* It's also crucial to note that if a DPSer gets hit by it (and its range is quite large) their attack speed gets shafted, so it's a nice defensive measure too. I was playing Udyr and I probably got hit by every single Pantheon ult in teamfights. It got to the point where I just took it like a man, because there was no way I was getting out of it. The only time I moved was if I was sitting close to the center - I wasn't willing to eat the stun + huge damage.
That also probably means he's better off being built as a AP/CD hero, though. Like Rylai, which would turn his spear into a targetted snare. I'm not sure how his ult would work with Rylai (whether it's like Veigar's meteor or Gangplank's cannon, my guess is the latter), but yeah. I'm not sure how the AP scales with his skills though (if they do at all).
Edit: Also, every hero is squishy without equipment. How is his armor/MR/HP growth? For instance, you can FEEL the softness with Jax (at level 18 his base MR is like 25 ROFL) and Twitch (who ends up with like a base of 35/30). I never noticed, but I don't think he was nearly as squishy as Gragas.
Edit2: Another game, we played against a Twitch (and a Pantheon), and he'd literally just activate his ult to encompass the Twitch, so if we went toward the Twitch he'd nail us. It was annoying as balls. My point is that there're ways of using it effectively, but it's not likely to work without proper coordination (or without thinking out strategies like that prior to combat). It's not there to mimic TF's Gate, but is an effective complement to certain setups.

It's Armor/MR Reduction -> % Penetration -> Penetration ? Wait, how does the flat penetration work, then... I always thought it was the same as reduction? Found off LoL forums: Show nested quote + Trying to clarify things here with a base example of someone with 185 armor.
185 - 85 (The Black Cleaver + Stark's Fervor) = 100 100 - 40 (Last Whisper) = 60 60 - 40 (25 armor penetration from runes and The Brutalizer) = 20
Is that roughly how it works? If so, I'm thinking that you can skip The Black Cleaver and Stark's Fervor entirely unless you specifically need Stark's aura.
185 - 74 (Last Whisper) = 111 111 - 40 (25 armor penetration from runes and The Brutalizer) = 71
Not bad considering you saved over 5k gold for a difference of 51 armor. Instead, you can use that money to get something like Infinity Edge and/or The Bloodthirster.
Okay so flat penetration works godly with Last Whisper, whereas reduc doesn't. That's very, very interesting to know, as I didn't realize the runes/brutalize penetration trumped reduc when in conjunction with Whisper... O_O
That is not all there is to it. Cleaver and Starks are applied as debuff therefore amplifying EVERYONES damage not just your own. Reduction also can reduce armor below 0, Penetration can´t. To put that in context, each armor point acts as percentage increase to your Health according to normal attacks. That is why 100 Armor gives 50% reduction: Your effective Health is doubled and actual damage therefore halved. Getting the enemy negative is VERY strong.
|
I'm aware that it affects everyone, and that it can reduce under 0.
Haemonculus and I's pondering was mostly in regard to the stacking of flat reduction/penetration versus %, as the only time you'd bring Last Whisper in conjunction with other reduction/penetration is if you're facing someone with hefty armor totals (like Rammus).
Starks(-20)+two Cleaver stacks (-24) vs 400 armor Rammus = 213 armor on hit Runes(-25)+Brutalizer(-15) vs 400 armor Rammus = 200 armor on hit

all i want to know is...
which item is the best to do more dmg with regular attacks getting the armor pen/reduction -.-

They do % of attack damage + a set amount. I think shield bash has a small AP gain and his ult has a good AP gain, but as far as I can tell, getting attack damage up is way better for him.
EDIT: I wish I could just find his stats on the website...
EDIT2: yea, definitely smaller range on his jump than Jax's. He also has slower move speed I think.

I read somewhere on the LOL forums that armor pen helps taking down towers and if you have armor pen runes early on and you manage to push a lane you will take down a good chunk from the tower damage.
I feel mostly the same about solo queue as most TLers put it. If you want to add me add "uSiN" and "Orange Boy". uSiN is my main lvl 27 but I've been playing on Orange Boy with friends. When you add please tell me your from TL cause it will be creepy otherwise.

Can you update the mini list? <3

Done and done.
I still hate Twitch because he can change the outcome of a teamfight almost regardless of how badly he's been doing previously in low-level games. If your allies don't focus fire him immediately you're in trouble.

servers are pretty fail lately @_@

Pretty good Pantheon I saw, although our team was pretty dominant. Wasn't watching his early game, so I couldn't tell what was going on, but he was 1v2 for a significant amount of time - maybe he needs the level advantage?
By the way for the matchmaking discussion, both the Pantheon and Udyr in that game were level 23, everyone else 30.
*shrugs*

add me too I'm EzPzLmnSqz on LoL

Anyone loving the crashes?

So after playing many games, I finally figured out how solo matchmaking works. First, the matchmaking system determines how many games you won recently. Then it uses that number to indicate the total level of noob teammates that you're going to get in your next game. For example, let's suppose you won 10 consecutive games. In this case, you would get rank 10 noob players on your team. This rank corresponds to the skill of a blind kid playing the game with arthritis. In a coma.
In addition to this, your opponents will all be level 30s with at least a 2:1 overall match record. Therefore, the matchmaking system makes it theoretically impossible to win 10 solo consecutive games in a row.
Wonderful job LoL matchmaker; you really made the game fair and fun.

the whole team is doing so good and the pantheon is only 8-1-12 it still doesn't say he can be a good carry hero like TF. He was doing 1v2 but most hero who is out leveling enemy hero should be doing 10+kills.
yabe.. yopparatta~

I don't think Pantheon's designed to carry.

I think I'm finally settling down on a build for him. Skills for first 6 levels go q,w,w,e,w,r (from there favoring w->r->q->e).
Items Meki Pendant + 2 health potions berzerker's greaves or mecury treads vampiric scepter last whisper B. F. Sword B. F. Sword convert first B. F. Sword to Black Cleaver if you got zerker greaves, covert 2nd BF and Scepter to Bloodthirster, otherwise scepter to either Malady or stark's (you need more attack speed) if the game drags out, I think Frozen Mallet or Banshee's Veil is optimal for the next item, but this is all situational.

That's why I'm a bit saddened his ult scales horribly or whatnot. It seems like by the end of the game that's mostly what he's for, unless they buff his stun duration. That ult needs to be killer when fed, but it can't get to that point...
|
well... from what I can tell, his ult scales pretty well with AP, it's just still clunky and he loses a lot of his early -> mid game punch if you're not doing something to up his attack damage since the rest of his abilities don't scale well with AP.
EDIT: it's apparently 1:1 AP scaling on both bash and ult... Guess I'll stick to stacking damage builds :p
