then there are the fucking babies. an annie rage-afk'd during one of my games because someone accidentally stole golem. annie had accidentally stolen lizard earlier but everybody just stayed quiet about it. then gets golem stolen, won't accept an apology, and just goes afk.
we were ahead 2 towers, 1 kill, and a dragon at that point. way to let your pride get in the way and just be a fucking baby.
I played a game yesterday in which I was Fiddle, laning with Poppy, and we were rockin' (especially awesome: got a pre-minion first blood when the TF/warwick tried to invade our bushes and a bouncing bird silenced them both before they could see us). The other lane was Soraka and...someone, I forget who. They were TERRIBLE. The worst part, however, was that they spent half their time arguing about who was worse and telling eachother to go AFK, until the Soraka did.
Now, she was bad. No question. But seriously? Telling your teammate to go AFK? I think this qualifies as "worst idea ever".

This isn't really my area, but I'll take a stab: virus scan and driver updates. It sounds like a system call is grabbing a very core BGL and hanging, so everything gets blocked. The reason the game claims lag is that the network stack is ALSO blocked, so you're not receiving/sending packets. The only things I know of that live in the kernel and do naughty things like that are viruses and poorly-written drivers. You can also try defragging, but that's a longshot.

is there still the wards/pots/consumables mid-late game crash bug

On Soraka I've been trying Sapphire -> Boots -> Locket -> Merc -> And then either Warden's Mail (if they have 4+ physical attackers), Leviathan (if they have 2 magical threats) or (rarely) Visage if they have more than 2 casters. It's been working really well.
I've considered skipping locket for Banshee if I encounter another hero with a longer or same ranged disable than my infuse...but that doesn't seem to happen too often; no one plays soraka at the noob levels where I currently am (just started playing LoL).
I heard the max cooldown reduction was 40%. Has anyone tried rushing shroud and frozen heart? Does it work? Getting to use silence every 9 second instead of 15 seems like a pretty big deal. Plus, I wouldn't need the locket if I can spam wish almost twice as often.

If you want an early locket, you should really open mana manip and lane with someone who can take advantage of it. 7.5 mana/second is a BIG DEAL.
I don't think your other items are quite right, either, but I don't play Soraka.

Actually funny enough, AP Corki was a significant reason why the game lasted 37 minutes; if he'd gone DPS he would have done absolutely no damage, because DPS = has to stay in range = I can kill. As it was, AP is weaker, but he was able to hammer us from afar, and so he was really tough for me to kill.
Edit: If anything, their Udyr brought them down, because they needed an actual tank, not an off-tank. They pushed down our first towers really fast, while we basically scratched theirs. It looked pretty grim for a bit, but then we started landing hooks/I started getting some sick wall-offs and the game turned around in a hurry.

wow ive never wanted to rage at this game before but i just lost to like the worst team ever due to my team continually bunching up and giving amumu/kennen/ryze instant quad kills
rage
went 16-10 as tristana and still no dice. at one point i aced their team by myself -_- how does matchmaking work

On Soraka, instead of getting Locket I just get Soul Shroud. Teamwide CD reduc > pithy teamwide heal, IMO.

It's 7.2mana/5seconds. I don't consider it worthwhile especially because I get infuse early and max it first.

I want to try shroud more, but Locket is what helps you really push towers mid-game without having to put more than 1 point into starcall, since it heals minions as well. Plus, 50HP to every teammate every 3 seconds isn't negligible. I am going to try opening shroud and frozen heart more and see whether that helps setup for a better late-game.

With mana regen/level seal and glyphs and an early MM, I can spam my skills indefinitely without getting Locket and without needing to Infuse myself. Soul Shroud giving your team 15% CD reduc is pretty significant in team fights, and ofc as previously stated, her skills on CD reduc is quite handy for Infuse (both offense and protracted fights) and for healing speed.
On that note, I've completely dropped Dodge seals on mana-guzzling heroes now in favor of mregen/level seals; having both glyphs and seals makes it so I can spam spells with relative frequency even with Anivia despite not getting mana items until really late.
Edit: As with my discussion about Taric with Mog before, it may be a playstyle issue. I level up Infuse very quickly, but not for the mana regen. I level it because it's a free harassment nuke and a silence. Because I play her as a nuking tank I end up finding Locket's effects negligible.

I did a virus scan with AVG, nothing. Could be the drivers though, but I have a relatively new computer <1 month old. I will try defragging though. Thanks for the help.

Locket is a mid game push item and its use starts to degrade after that. So if your a solo q and in a lower elo bracket expecting a 35+ min game just go more ap support focused builds with aegis/rylai's

Have you ever updated the drivers? The drivers as shipped on a prebuilt machine are often quite out of date. I would strongly recommend Windows update and getting the latest graphics drivers.

Dodge is kinda negligible in the long run, imo. You shouldn't be fighting melee characters with a carry anyway.

I dunno, healing 250 HP and 100 MP every 3 seconds from locket is nothing to scoff at.
I havent tried rushing frozen heart yet now that the item recipe has been changed, though i haven't played Soraka in a long while haha.

Is morde easy to learn? All the mordes i've seen play have been beasts, and they just utterly dominate.

Solo-mid Mord is annoying, but that's about the only place he's a "beast," and a solo-mid Mord won't usually help your team win :p

On April 19 2010 10:36 Southlight wrote: Solo-mid Mord is annoying, but that's about the only place he's a "beast," and a solo-mid Mord won't usually help your team win :p Well i mean like hes soo hard to kill, and he seems to get easy kills during team fights, I don't know how hes good because he doesn't have stun/slow so I don't know how well he is at higher levels. But people who use him seem really good. Like the last time i played a pre-made with TL 5v5, this one guy used morde (forgot his name), even though we lost, morde still had like a beast record.

I don't think Morde is that good. He takes some getting used to in lane because he's almost immune to harass, but burst harass will still get through. Endgame, he has no CC, moderate damage, and moderate tankability (his shield doesn't do much late game, and his only other defensive skill is his ult's healing). I used to have issues with him solo mid (with me as Sivir), but I'm fine against him now, and his extra cash/xp from the solo don't do his team much good.
