If they have 2000 max hp and they're sitting at full hp and you have <100 AP you'll do 600 damage (affected by MR/MPen) O_o With heroes like Veigar and Heimer I definitely go for DFG fast, the AP gain from it, the CD, and the nuking power of the item itself is crazy. If you open DFG on Annie and you gank someone with 1000 HP you'll nail someone for 300 + 200 + 260 + 145 + AP damage, all adjusted by MR/MPen, at level 9. Yep; most damaging "spell" is DFG.
The problem I have with going Cat instead is that you get survivability but it gimps your AP gain for like 15 minutes. You can do it on some heroes (like Annie and Ryze) where AP isn't that crucial early-on, but for nukers that need AP as soon as possible... ;x Personal preference.

I think stealing it with Smite from up on the ledge would be such a massive kick in the balls XD.
Actually had a really bad Baron experience a couple days ago where we got sandwiched by Ez and Ashe ults as we were finishing Baron and got completely wiped.
Oh and speaking of Ez ult, I had another funny game where my team had a leaver at level 1 and when the enemy Ezreal hit 11, his ult was 1 shotting that Fiddle sitting at our Fountain XD. Everytime his ult came off CD, he'd just farm our level 1 Fiddle from across the map LOL.

I love taking Smite - like I know many people think it's a bad spell - but I love taking it because it makes taking Dragon/Baron a lot safer. But nothing beats having it robbed by Morgana's puddle tick. That's like, what, 70 damage? And it was a blind cast, too.

cool, can't wait to see how TT's metagame evolves. Might be refreshing to have teamfights that aren't complete clusterfucks.
than again, I have the sneaking suspicion that a good Jax will be more imba in 3v3s...

Speed/gank/spellcaster heroes like Eve/Kass dominate on TT. Jax is a mid-to-late-game champ that requires a certain degree of farming to work; if he can get farmed sure but there's not enough money to be made quickly enough on TT, IMO.
Edit:
They designed the map to end games in ~25 minutes or less, which means every hero where you might have thought "it just falls behind too much" becomes effective. Ashe, Eve, Kass, Shaco, Mundo that sort of stuff, all the heroes that dominate early-game with map/lane control and early combat become much stronger than heroes that require farmage.
Taric/Soraka/Janna/etc, are going to be godly on TT though for that precise reason >_o

Yeah, apparently Mundo is "the hax" on TT.
Udyr had a post on one of the threads (can't find it now  ) that just said "MUNDO MUNDO MUNDO MUNDO." Kinda funny.

yea if you get some one that never dabbled in practice games before and doesnt know the TT metagame you are basically screwed as lizard control is almost everything(toned down a bit since you dont get vision when you kill it anymore)

WillG, mChocolate and I stomped a Mundo, Yi, Sivir, with Shaco, Annie, Shen. The opening was sloppy on our part, cause it was my (their?) first game on TT against players, but then we just came back and dominated. We then switched to Shen, Ryze, Shaco and got stomped by Ashe, Warwick, Teemo. Warwick is crazy good on TT imo. walking distance between creeps is nothing, and there is a lot of them.
@Brees, isn't dragon more imba, it was like +16% damage. o_o That was huge on my shaco mid game.

Smite is so amazing. Stole lizard and dragon with deceive + smite in one game as Shaco on TT. The ensuing ragechat is priceless.

Sigh, I played a ganking/map control character in the game before we played you, Swift, we ended up with Taco (your teammate Jax).
This fucker followed me for the first 10 minutes doing exactly what I did.
I'd go top, he'd follow.

So I play Heimer and we end up with a Warwick that discovers TT sucks for pure jungling, whee no map control now that I stop playing a ganker. Plus he kept giving you speed/lizard buffs at the start, fun fun.

Yeah that warwick was pretty bad, the Jax was bitching at me and moe the entire game telling us to stop stealing his lizard/haste buffs, pretty cute.
Mundo's masochism is so amazing early, i was 2 hitting your turrets at level 4.

Yeah that kinda sucked, I had nowhere to go so I had to laneswap with Turkey and hope for the best. But then when you start roaring in with 40% movement speed buff and lizard buff I was just QQ
