It's now Cavs, Lakers, Orlando, Denver, and maybe Dallas. And for some reason the cavs play very well with ilgauskaus.

At this point in their careers, it doesn't seem like there's a significant difference between the two in overall perimeter shooting ability. Wade's midrange game does seem to be better, but Lebron's 3pt shooting cancels it out. One could argue that Lebron's 3pt shooting outweighs Wade's midrange game because 3's are significantly more efficient than long 2's. Going along that train of thought, it's quite arguable that Lebron is the superior scorer in that he is more efficient at the two most efficient shots in the NBA, 3's and shots at the basket. While a good midrange game is underrated, it's really the least efficient way to score. FTs are another efficient way to score and, for some reason I can't figure out, Wade's FT% dipped significantly after steady improvement up until 06-07 to the point where he's a worse FT shooter than Lebron now. I find it odd that we hear about Lebron's poor FT shooting all the time, but never hear anything about Wade's despite it being worse. I like Wade a lot as a player, but it's hard to argue that he's a better shooter or scorer than Lebron currently. The stats show that Lebron has become a better 3pt and FT shooter, he's much more unstoppable when driving to the basket, and Wade's advantage in the midrange is not that significant. I think most people would agree that Lebron has better court vision and plays better at point, and he has a better AST:TO ratio as well. Lebron gets his assists like a PG, whereas Wade gets his more like AI or Kobe do, i.e. being so dominant offensively, sucking up defenses, and dishing to teammates who are left open as a result. Defensively, I can't say that I've been that impressed with Wade's apart from his ability to make the "big plays", i.e. blocks and steals. Lebron, on the other hand, has shown lockdown defense and is at least as good, if not better, at getting steals/blocks. The one caveat to all this is that Wade currently has a lot less help on his team than Lebron does. He literally has had to do everything for his team for the past few seasons, and that's bound to have a negative impact on his stats and his overall performance. However, it's hard to measure "teammates suckiness" as a stat, or use it to adjust his other stats. As for the championship argument, I don't really buy it either. Lebron got the Cavs to the Finals pretty early on in his career with a lot less help than Wade had when he made his sole trip to the Finals. While Shaq was nowhere near his Hall of Fame/Lakers self at that time, he was still a lot better than any of the teammates Lebron has had throughout his career. Riley vs. Brown as a coach also clearly leans heavily in Wade's favor as well. I'm not going to discount Wade's ring entirely, or even attempt to argue that Lebron could have won one if he had been in Wade's shoes that season, but it's not the end-all factor that some people (not necessarily anyone in this thread) often see it as.

Sure it was a horrible Clevland team that he took to the finals, but they didn't even stand a chance against the last good Spurs team.

East Conference 05-06 (Heat Championship) Average W-L%: 0.478 Teams over .500: 8 Teams under .400: 4 Teammates of note: Shaq, JWill, Antoine, Payton, Zo, Haslem, Posey, etc. (1 HOF, 3 Allstars) East Conference 06-07 (Cavs Finals) Average W-L% 0.474 Teams over .500: 7 Teams under .400: 3 Teammates of note: Big Z, Hughes, Pavlovic, Gooden, Varejao, Gibson (1 Allstar) Personally, I think the East was pretty weak for both teams (neither would've made it through their respective Western Conferences IMO), and those numbers sort of support that. However, you are right in that at least the top East teams were a bit better when the Heat won, i.e. Pistons and Nets. The thing that tips things back though is the roster that Lebron had around him that season. I mean, really, look at it. Then look at who Wade had around him in his run. Sure he had a lot of aging and past-their-prime players, but four of them had been Allstars at one point, including Shaq who is a shoe-in HOFer. Toss in a couple of solid tough role player types like Posey and Haslem. Lebron had Z, who was only ever an Allstar b/c the East had no Centers, never-beens like Hughes and Goodens, and players with as much or less experience than he had in Pavlovic and Gibson. While I definitely don't weigh Lebron's Finals run very much myself, I have to acknowledge that it was quite a feat for a 22 yr old 4th-year player without any experience or talent around him. Wade, while also relatively young and experienced, had a lot of experience and talent around him, with Shaq backing him up and supporting him, during his Championship run. Personally, I find it to be something of a wash.

In fact I think it's kinda shocking how far Wade seems to have fallen off, it's like his nagging injuries are just bringing him way down, I guess his body just can't handle the type of basketball he plays (a la Gerald Wallace playing the 3, 4 concussions ftw)
