Does this post qualify as a suicide threat? Calling the police now.
More like, did that post qualify as evidence of a kidnapping and cruel/unusual torture?

What's sad is that he's not alone amongst NBA players who squander their millions. There have been many articles on it, and it's so bad the NBA players association has started programs trying to teach young players how to manage their finances. I see the biggest problem being that these are young kids who make a ton of money, and who are surrounded by people who want to get as much of it out of him as possible.
edit : although he also lost millions and enjoyed the success of previous greats something just reminded me this video. same problem with every major sport league these days. prices/salaries have inflated and competition to join or stay in these leagues is also tougher.
I think it's really important that these NBA players surround themselves with people who can both fit their needs and won't steer them in the wrong direction. I remember reading a lot about Kwame Brown, how he just didn't fit in with the Wizards and he didn't have anyone that was a contemporary and how hard it was on him. It doesn't really excuse his being such a huge draft bust, but it does explain some about his lack of development.
It's good that the NBA is trying to help their players develop some sense of financial knowledge though

Kareem worked with Kwame when he was on the Lakers and it doesn't seem to have made much difference. One could argue that Kwame was already damaged goods by then and that Bynum was receiving more of Kareem's attention, but I think this suggests that Kwame just never had it in him.
It's not even about skill development, it's about just being a mature adult. When you're surrounded by people that aren't really that close to your age or mental state, you just don't develop correctly
