TO Johns are so real jesus. I don't know how nintendude and armada do it to a much higher degree of skill and # of entrants. I learned a lot of small things about TOing yesterday in regards to seeding and even streaming events with commentary. Also I'm really bad at dealing with being camped. I need to not lose my cool while being camped and being baited into bad approaches. Oh well. Results ------------- 1) Metal Reeper 2) Son2 3) Velocity 4) Zodiac 5) Widl 5) TRK I live in Philly so I'm going to try to start going to this I've heard great things! Keep it up!

and it seems like most of Norcal players are not that far behind. Norcal players do well against PPU, SFAT, and Shroomed. I think it is the lack of participation from most Norcal players in tournaments. Hopefully, there is a Norcal vs. Socal crew battle at NCR, and maybe it excludes the Gods. Plus, Alan said he trying to get a round robin with only the Gods in it. That will be hype.

But even that's changing! I think Norcal has a lot of people who have the drive to get better. Laudandus is improving super fast, Toph is playing much more consistently, Bizzarro Flame is actually getting even better despite spamming dair/utilt/warlock punch in every non-important set, L is starting to get more consistent... I think gaR / Delphiki / NMW (hi) are also constantly improving their game. (and I hope Leon is too, but it doesn't seem like he's playing that much atm...) And that's just the ranked people. Ralph, Anson, Nhat, and a bunch of other slightly-below-ranked people are also gonna be major threats soon. I do hope that the longtime ranked guys (Brandon, Jeff, Sheridan, etc) can show some tangible improvement soon--not to say that they're not amazing players, but I think they're sort of plateauing.

The next event will be on Feb 28th. btw. It conflicts with shots fired which is kinda sad but oh well. I'm going to make an event page and post it in the local melee groups later today!

In this match vs Wizzrobe at Apex, how does PPMD do the jumping shines to chase Wizzrobe on the platforms as demonstrated from 4:17-4:21? I've tried to replay it over and over to analyze it, but I can't tell if he's wavelanding onto the platform and then shining, or jumping into shine and then landing.

it's actually a really basic falco thing, it's how you get the stupidly long combos with falco

You just have to shine then waveland (in place, generally). But the shine should be such that it hits the opponent on platform but not at the position where you're on platform, just slightly below.
