follow up question about ledgedashing

say im on left ledge, only way ive found to do it is to move the stick left, then right, then jump and air dodge down and right

is this correct?

some characters can start the ledgedash by ffing off the ledge (press down), but yeah you drop, doublejump, and waveland in (so basically what you said)

It's easier to ledgedash if you let go of the edge by pressing down imo, but maybe it's just preference.

i agree, pressing down usually means i don't have to move my thumb as far since i'm already holding down and slightly in the direction i'm ledgedashing

I use cstick to drop from ledges. Gives me more directional control.

Guys, any tips on how to double laser from ledge consistently with falco? Having a bit of trouble with the timing. Also is dair onto stage safe? My ledge mixups blow

Beat Rocky again today and went super even with Calle W (1-3, last hit and stock all games except the one I won which was a 2 stock), pretty happy about it. Feels like I've really taken a big step towards getting to the next level.

Lost 0-3 to Android in losers finals. Didn't really have the mental stamina to keep going after having the first game being almost over but missing an edgeguard and then getting gimped LOL. I was pretty content with my performance at that point.

I went to my first tournament yesterday and I did alright, but for some reason I was flubbing a bunch of shorthops and I felt like I was playing horribly. Johns aside, has this affected anyone else going to a tournament for the first time? Ugh, I'm just not satisfied how I played at all. Time to train hard for next Saturday's big tournament.

I couldn't wavedash to save my life my first tournament, I just kept air dodging, its just first time jitters, keep going to tournaments for more experience and it will get better.

Yeah, I get that. It was just so weird. Whenever I play against my friends and when I practice mechanics at home I will hit like 95-100% of my shorthops, but for some reason I was full hopping aerials like crazy. It was so frustrating. But you're probably right. I do plan on attending more and will be next week.

Just imagine it in tiers, playing with you friends to playing with people you don't know in a local tournament. It's gonna put the pressure on. It would probably also be the difference in going from a local tournament to a VERY big tournament. Now imagine trying to play against well known people

It will be like your first local all over again.
