Mist Lake Floating Cloud + Show Spoiler + SO GOOD DAT FIDDLE I love the Irish fiddle music, so I might be a bit biased hahaha A few more The Refrain of the Lovely Great War SOUND HOLIC + Show Spoiler + Interesting song Unless you absolutely hate male vocals, this is pretty good Got that electro/rock mix hue Rigid Paradise Jersey to Yukaina Nakamatachi + Show Spoiler + Simple in terms of instrument layers, but really catches the essence of the song Thoroughly enjoyable Felt like it would've been better without the "whooping" around 2:50 The song is kinda at it's peak there, and it distracts it from the main melody a bit... (aka annoying lol) Phantom Ensemble phase trax records + Show Spoiler + I actually think I've never heard a Vocaloid Touhou song actually I've been kinda favoring this genre style lately Maybe it's classified as House? Too many damn electronic genres Only thing I can immediately categorize is dubstep lol But yeah, nice remix Happy Listening~ | ||

So at first I only found one photo of me, but it seemed he just wasn't done posting them all! Which is great news because he takes very professional photos! I wonder, does the hair look bad this way (?), as covering more of my face (especially the brows) would help hide the masculine parts, but it's better than nothing at least (worst case would be I also didn't have my scarf on, but I had it on for that day, cape off though because of heat and hat because it's not a practical hat xD). I'll see if I can find any other photos of me, there were a couple other professional photographers going around and maybe I can find some random photos of me that people asked to take (and a couple people with legit cameras who took photos of me without asking -- one time when I was crossing the street lol, and another was someone taking one when someone else was taking one of me) | ||

That might be an alternative to going behind the boss. edit: I think you want to go from bottom left to bottom right. So on the first bullet line wave, stay close to the bottom left corner (not all the way to the left but as much as possible without dying). Then go to the bottom right corner after the two bullet lines pass you. Then go back and forth between those two corners. | ||

While browsing around youtube, I found this song: Eternal Steam Engine + Show Spoiler + Apparently it is the Soku (12.3) credits song And everything in it except for the 2 boss fights are composed by U2 At first I was like "This doesn't sound anything like ZUN would make" Then I looked up the Soku soundtrack and realized only ZUN made 2 Still a nice track though I misread it was Touhou 12 Credits theme, so at first I was like... wait a minute I don't think I've ever heard this one while I was playing UFO lol And a vocal rock remix Romantic Children MisteryCircle + Show Spoiler + Mmm that electric edit: Couple more by Syrufit, sung by Poplica Faith is for Transient People Syrufit + Show Spoiler + Really nice calm relaxing mix Guitar is simple but sounds good Green-Eyed Jealousy Syrufit + Show Spoiler + I'm actually looking for more Touhou songs for streaming, since Twitch doesn't seem to mute game songs and Touhou of course I'm surprised like Live and Learn didn't get muted, but MIRACLE RUSH did lol | ||

Much nicer UI, music, sprites, and level design. Since you want different characters, Imperishable Night (TH08) has a lot of new characters 8 has Reimu, Yukari, Marisa, Alice, Remilia, Sakuya, Yuyuko, and Youmu You can play them in the pairs or as single (you can't mix and match though, so Reimu and Yukari is a team, and so is Yuyuko and Youmu) They also have a cool mechanic where "mystical" person can pass through certain bullets when you switch as a team, but they usually move slower. Phantasmagoria of Flower View (TH09) Has a lot of characters, but it's basically Phantasmagoria of Dim Dream, from the PC98 game Subterranean Animism (TH11) Brings back the team combo character but with only 2 playable characters. Reimu being able to pair up with Yukari, Suika, and Aya, and Marisa being able to pair up with Alice, Patchouli, and Nitori. One of my favorites. Definitely give it a try. Every stage music is fantastic And the list goes on for each game! I recommend playing TH11 and if you like it, try playing the other ones. I don't think the music gets repetitive. To be fair, 1-5 sounds really similar (as in music) because it's all done in the same 8-bit style, but I'd say 6 and onwards the music changes a lot from each game. It won't be drastically different, because it is all composed by the same person and it is part of the series, but it changes from each game and the setting it takes place in. If you only played 1-6, I think you really should try the new ones, because it does get different for each game. It's a shoot'em up so there is only so much you can change, but each game is different that it is worth atleast playing through once if you like the genre. If you really want something different, try some of the spin off games like TH 12.8 Fairy Wars (Where you can freeze bullets for points) or TH 9.5 Shoot the Bullet (Where you play as Aya and instead of shooting your own danmaku, you dodge and try to get close enough to take a good picture of the enemy) It also has a sequel TH12.5 if you like it! | ||

I also don't understand why they changed playable characters this much. Touhou 3 had like nine and Touhou 6 only two. Granted, it was different gameplay, but still... No, it's more like the songs are exactly the same. Shanghai Kouchakan I heard so many times by now. But maybe it's just because I played each game too much that I think they were all the same songs...or they are really only similar. I think I've seen a Touhou fighter spin-off some years ago where you fight with spell cards. I guess I will try to find that. Hm, I would follow the series anyway, so I will probably give Touhou 7 a try. | ||

Some games have different level and boss depending on the choices you make (actually only Touhou 8) And I guess the newest one has a different boss on stage 3 or 4 depending on the character type you pick Touhou 3 was a VS only game That's why it has so many characters Playing a VS game with only 3 characters is not fun Think about playing Street Fighter with only Ken, Ryu, and Bison Touhou 3 was the deviant from the series You can see this with Touhou 9, which is also a VS only game with many many characters And trust me EVERY song is different! (with some exceptions) I don't understand how you say all the songs are the same The Meiling theme only appears in TH06 on Stage 3 and not in any other games (minus fighter games and spin offs) Only re-occuring song/theme is the title screen song and maybe the credits are sort of similar sounding But each level theme and boss theme are different Why do you think there are so many remixes of Touhou songs? And Touhou fighters are fun I personally like IaMP (TH07.5) more than Soku (TH10.5), but the latter has more characters The newest fighter is kinda wonky, (TH13.5) but maybe you'll enjoy it It's sort of free floater fighting where you're suspended in air all the time, but still fixed in 2D | ||

That's what I meant with different gameplay. Didn't know that Touhou 9 is the same though. Touhou 3 was a bitch to complete on highest difficulty with every character...took so long. Well, I gave possible explanations why I think/thought this is the case. I would have almost sworn on that. I never really paid attention to remixes and whatnot. I was fine just playing the games and eventually beating them (I also don't understand the hype; I would prefer male characters and at least in the earlier Touhou games, the dialogues often make no sense...or maybe it's just bad translation/a lot of proverbs). Yeah, saw it back on the day on ustream. Are bot battles fine or is it better to play with humans instead? | ||

You must be good to beat all the games on lunatic though I still have trouble with normal. Maybe you just heard too many of the PC98 songs. They do sound similar since there are only so many different types of sounds the older games can make lol Dialogue makes NO sense So you're not the only one there hahaha Neither does the plot but it usually involves some mysterious thing happening -> Killing Youkai I actually kinda liked Touhou 8, Imperishable Night, story though Something about cute Touhou girls with silly hats probably makes them popular Not to mention a lot of fanart stuff... A LOT Even if you don't like the music itself, there are so many remixes floating around, if you have a favorite genre, you can find a song that you like From pop, to rock, to classical, to electronic, to rap, to choral, to funk, to folk, you name it and it probably exists. Playing vs bots are fine. I still occasionally do Lunatic IaMP Arcade Runs (I hate the story mode) But playing vs others can be even more fun or rage inducing depending on how competitive you are  And it's better to find someone you know to play together than the guys in IRC channels, since they have been playing these games/fighters for years When I joined #IaMP channel, I got bodied for like atleast a year Granted I was brand new to fighting games in general but still Now I can hold my own, but very rarely will I win vs the best players After I tried for a few years, I kinda figured I can't really get good at FG lol I even played other games too with similar results | ||
