Nice you like renko too? Maybe you will love that new anime haha BTW I was distracted with Smash 4 and all but the trailer was already out for a bit! It's not too telling, I think the animation will at best be equal to that of Fantasy Kaleidoscope, and right now I think it's slightly worse. But for being fanmade, and being produced so fast, that's still really amazing. The quality shown in the trailer is better than many many professionally made anime. Well here it is: And dam, that zoomed out shot of Hakurei Shrine is beautiful. There's SO MANY TREES AND SHIT. Damn how long did it take to draw all of that?! | ||

So the production time will be only ~2-3 months, which in the anime industry would be the norm for producing 6-7 episodes. I'm really surprised they are finishing it so fast, I wonder how many people are working on it. Because if this is their first animated work, they are really pumping this out FAST and smoothly. Edit: That remix is pretty pleasing, nice. Oh man this is pretty glorious. Damn, that transition into Innocent Treasures. DAMN. And those fucking key changes DAMN Probably gonna keep listening to this for a bit! <3 | ||

I didn't know Tumeneco did this kind of styles much, I thought they did metal/screamo haha. Or maybe it is only because they are working with Get in the ring? Either way the result is quite nice. I give both this and the other song a 8.5/10 Oh, didn't get that the ranking site quizzes you (?) Thought it was just a way to create your list to share haha. Love the increased activity, now I will be able to start grabbing new Touhou songs to add to my playlists X) | ||

I'm really loving these two right now (as well as those two TUMENECO & FELT ones still) Starts off sorta pleasant but slow and generic. But it gets good after the a bit. When a certain two specific melodies are incorporated, it really wowed me, especially the second one. The first one at 1:39 is quite surprising and I haven't heard a arrange of this melody in that kind of way. Very engaging. Then when it transitions at 2:04 to THAT, damn, that was really nice. Don't love this one too much but these things made it notable for me. The melody used at 2:04 is handled in a way very similar to + Show Spoiler + Moon Light Step Ok this one's more fun and somewhat dirty and chaotic. Starts off a bit hard and messy but once it finishes building up and gets past the first "stages" of the song, it gets quite exciting. I love this one! Please give it a chance. After the first two minutes it gets so good (not to say the first two minutes are bad, they are necessary). | ||

Speaking of which, I have yet to beat Ten Desires I don't know why, but I keep dying all the time on easy... It's suppose to be the easiest one too, but I can beat the other ones a lot easier Here is a happy version of Last Remote :3 | ||

And a really good one at that! This is probably my ideal Desire Drive remix. The main melody should be synth in my opinion It just lends itself that way much better. Sure orchestral and electric guitar can work, but synth just sounds RIGHT. You also have the same/similar drum/breakbeat gently in the background while the original tune plays, but then gets tone down into basic rock when the vocals start. That is an amazing touch that really goes to showcase why the original was so good. I really like it when songs do this. And the vocals fit the song nicely, well done to Yuki My only very minor complaint I have with the song is the electric guitar solo at 3:12. I really liked how the electric guitar and the rock drums were playing the backseat here. It gives that classic Japanese Pop Rock style + Show Spoiler + which usually always include guitar solo... wait a minute... Song sort of ends abruptly with a sparkle and die down effect 2. Racoon Heart Next up is Ms Racoon's theme, Futatsuiwa from Sado I know Mamizou had a lot of popularity and didn't know if it was from the song or the character design. To be honest, I don't think her song, Futatsuiwa From Sado, is that great. And that's why I probably didn't like this song as much as the others. It starts up with a pretty cool space effect style, then the main theme comes after the drum beats. We have the power vocals from ucchi and I think it fits the song very well But like I said, I just don't really like the song and the remix very much 3. 月夜のBlack Bird Oh wow, a Rumia remix of A Soul as Red as a Ground Cherry. Who was that Rumia fan in this thread, I forgot lol Starts up a bit different compared to the last two, which had similar style. This was has a bit more tinge of jazz-y feel mixed in. When I first heard the song, I sort of expected ucchi to do the vocals, but they decided to go with the happy feel route with Yuki. Except the song isn't really done very happily and is pretty slow paced. I would've liked to see the song take the full happy route like the Last Remote song, if Yuki was going to do the vocals. I think this would've been a lot better with ucchi singing and giving it more power feel. 4. 覚醒のファンシー THIS INTRO, HEARTFELT FANCY, :LSBWOEFUWOEHIF:JLKDSHKJSDHF SO GODLIKE hold on let me listen to it again so I can make a rational assessment All right, I'm sane again. This song goes to show that Yellow Zeb... er R-Note can still do the rock genre. Awesome Now Heartfelt Fancy is a very ambient song and the decision for Yuki to the vocals is FANTASTIC. The song isn't meant to be happy but her vocals fit so much better than ucchi would've done for this style. Not song isn't heavy at all, which again goes back to the roots of the original. And the song sort of kicks up on the second phrase of the song. The electric guitar solo at 2:10 is very simple yet effective further enhancing up that smooth ambiance to lead up the the climax at the end with a FANTASTIC outro This has the be one of the best song ending I have heard. Just listening to it puts me in euphoria 5. APPLE A very short title, and one can guess what the song is going to be. Has this crazy synth start with hints of stylized Japanese ambiance in the beginning and sort of has me wondering will be like. Then the vocals kick and it's another ambient song. I really like the synth and drumbeat put together to give that mild trance/techno feel. It's a crazy clash of traditional Japanese and synthetic ambiance. Put in some piano and drumbeats and you got a hodgepodge of a song I feel like ucchi was the right choice, but the song wasn't really in my taste. Sort of felt too trippy lol You're 0-2 uchhi, please have a good song 6. LEADING! NOW THAT'S ANOTHER GREAT GUITAR INTRO... then kicks into this I want to say... mismatch of vocals... It just sounds... off I know it's kinda suppose to be a key change thing but ughh...... 1:02 WHAT ARE YOU DOING THIS PART MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL Things sort of change up and at 2:27 it gets into the main melody and sounds actually decent This is what the song should've been entirely like. Punk rock style, like they did with the intro. Like Green Day, Sum 41, etc Another cool outro (I'm a sucker for this type of stuff) to finish the song on a bright note but... that doesn't make up for the first half of the song HOW DO THEY FUCK UP GHOST LEAD THIS BAD 0-3 ucchi... 0 for 3 ;_; 7. 星屑アイズ Back to Imperishable Night to do another pretty under-remixed song: Illusionary Night ~ Ghostly Eyes. Now I could be wrong, but doing a happy remix of this song is NOT the way to go. Just listen to the original + Show Spoiler + I'm not saying happy versions cannot work, but I feel this wasn't executed well. It just feels off. Everything about the song. It's really slow, so it's kinda like a ballad, yet it's suppose to give a happy feel so again another mismatch of styles. As a side note, I would KILL to see Yuki sing a hyper happy song where she sings really fast. All the ones in this album, she sings pretty slow. Also this song features electric guitar solo exactly the same from the original, which further accentuates this problem. Slow, serious guitar solo with a slow want to be happy song 8. 雨に想えば ～Rain～ Last song. Last chance to redeem yourself ucchi This time, it's Sealed Cloud Route from TH12 And did ucchi deliver THANK YOU Now we have a true somber ballad style song which ucchi does brilliantly Set to the beautiful background of orchestra and acoustic guitar Nice and relaxing yet, engaging bringing you in, with the strength from ucchi vocals and the melody. Simple yet very effective With a very nice ending leaving on a major key to have that sense of fulfillment So we have song stellar songs, some mediocre ones, and some absolutely terrible ones. I've done 2 Yellow Zebra (R-Note) reviews in the past and it always seems this way. Have a few gems mixed in with mediocre and bad. No worries though, as long as good songs come out I am very happy. TLDR Overall this album was a mixed bag, and I recommend Desire Drive (1), Heartfelt Fancy (4), and Sealed Cloud Route (8) If you didn't want to read through the whole thing | ||

Just got back from Youmacon, had a lot of fun doing my cosplay! It was really difficult wearing it and keeping everything in place at first, but I got comfortable with it and got better with it. Damn, managing long hair / lots of clothes / complicated clothes is really hard! More respect for girls. Your hair tangles all over the place, you can only wear a backpack on the edge of your shoulder or else it'll pull on your hair, and my feet hurt (my shoes only had an inch heel at most). I also learned that purses were actually necessary (no pockets in mine, and in general girls dont have functional pockets because the cloth manufacturers want to maximize appearance). I got several people to take pictures of me, unfortunately I didn't see as many touhous and I also missed my touhou photoshoot due to my sc2 tourny matches taking too long. I didn't get to mingle with other kawaii touhous fans I have trouble talking to girls so this seemed like a good opportunity to me.Nonethless I was in some official photos taken by Youmacon staffers, especially at the SC2 tournament area! When I first got there, an excited girl came up and called Marisa ~ and took a photo of me. I posed but my hat started to slip off... it fell off after several seconds but my friends told me she got the picture, haha. Which was awesome, seeing someone take a picture of you first time cosplaying right when you get to the event. There were a couple other photographers that took pictures of me only when others were taking pictures of me, as if they didn't want to ask. The twitch stream also often had people that wasn't sure if I was a girl or boy, and the Subway worker called me Miss. I acted all kawaii and uguu in front of the Youmacon camera during game downtimes and the chat was really friendly and played along, asking me to do certain things again in front of the camera to confirm it was really me. A couple tournament players also didn't recognize me from last year until ~5 mins after talking, which was awesome. Overall, it was a very unique and fun experience, I can't wait to cosplay again next year! Hopefully I'll find some decent photos of me and I can share them here asap! (I also found out there were ~1600 people watching my finals at the tourny last year, which I had no idea about. I thought it was like 50 ish or something. I had a lot of fun interacting with the chat this year knowing there were so many people watching. There was the flamers that called everyone shit but they were mostly friendly and fun. I wish I coulda had more time to practice if I knew there were so many people watching. And for last year it sorta sucks that so many people watched me derp and lose 3 games in a row real fast because I had to go because my ride was there and there was no way I was gonna win 6 games in an hour, but I guess it was better I didn't know that at the time, and it only excites me for next year! The casters are excellent and they really deserved that many viewers). | ||

I completely forgot that you would be participating in the SC2 tourney (or did you mention it?) Sounds like you had a lot of fun Warmly waiting for the pictures :3 I went to my first con few months ago (Otakon) and I kinda wished I cosplayed Maybe next year! | ||

Definitely cosplay next year! My first two years I didn't, but this time I did and i got to experience cons in such a new unique and fun way! If you feel you might get bored doing the same things again cosplaying really changes it up IMO. I was worried I would look dumb at first but it turned out fine (if people couldn't tell right away if i was a girl or not then that's good enough LOL) and I got some pictures taken of me even by people who didn't seem to know what touhou was about (including older folks/parents) | ||

For example mine had a cape so that helped give the shoulders more of a relaxing shape, and the sleeves were that puffy style so it helps hide the shoulder's position. Yea, long dresses ftw. It would be hard to pull things off with a short skirt; a more traditional length skirt (knee or slightly longer) could work though if you don't have really bulky legs. Shaving was a little annoying, took me like 1.5 hours total for arms + legs, but I'm pretty hairy and it was my first time trying it. You could also just do something that has long socks/leggings, or add them in. Wigs are also really awesome, especially with bangs! They help hide the eyebrows, and if the sides are long they can also help hide the size and shape of the contour of the face and make it look smaller and make the chin look less prominent. Etc.
