Im concerned. I dont know brood war in depth, that is why I would like the opinion of someone who does, but from the things ive seen here on TL and the fact that the BW scene is still "alive and kicking", we could consider these games as equals, (aside from graphics of course). Is brood war a deeper game where more complex strategies are possible? Is brood war skill cap higher? Is WoL a simple and easy game compared to its predecessor? How was brood war at its beginning? Im throwing a lot of questions out there. You see, Im concerned. I love Starcraft 2 with all my heart, but when I compare both games and the skill level involved, I cant help but feeling SC2 is a much simpler, pretty and shallow game. I certainly hope im wrong... but... am I? These questions are not able to be answered. As much as I would love to provide answers. Brood War, to answer the question, was simpler in the beginning than it is today, to say the very least. But it's impossible to compare the two, even from the start. In SC2 we had a huge base of knowledge to start with that didn't exist in BW. But I don't know that it CAN'T evolve. It's impossible to say without time/expansions. edit: And before people say we should just "give it time" I think it's ok to start to wonder what will need to happen in expansions to see another BW Another edit: BTW to the other response that we just need to wait, all games don't magically end up BW. Plenty of games have just straight flopped or die. | ||
