Your reasoning would say that any raceswitch is a bad thing for a player. Even though we've seen countless times that it can help. Neeb used to be terran before LoTV, ByuN used to be protoss, Classic used to be terran, TLO used to be terran, Gumiho used to be random etc. How many times has a decent player switched races and then dropped of in form because it was a mistake? Not many, they all seem to switch because they have reasons to believe they'll do better
The only situation that even remotely is similar to Scarlett is Classic but classic was still just 21 when he made that change.
Using Neeb as an example is beyond ridiculous since he was only 16 when he made that change. Byun was in his teens when he switched to Terran. Gumiho and TLO made their switches back when SC2 was a new game.
You are assuming that Scarlett has the talent to be a better player. Or that she is under performing her talent level. She is a white girl from Canada. I would say she has over achieved as a player.
I am big fan but I never been a fan to someone who don't want fans before. What are some of this fanclubs best suggestions of good and bad ways to try show support of Scarlett?
I just saw that Tenshi is casting Kung Fu Cup this week, I think Scarlett is playing in that right now or in a little bit. I wonder how her ping will be.

Bookmarking this fan club, following her Twitch (and turning on alerts/what-have-you) and watching all of the videos and stuff on the front page would be good if you haven't already. Otherwise just keep doing what you're doing! Following her on twitter isn't bad either, but of course she posts there less often than she streams. xD

Thanks for the support when we were doing the 24hour stream in Korea a few weeks back \ o /
Just watched her dominate Cyan in the Kung fu cup 3-1. An unusual set up where players play 4 game matches no matter what the score.
Cyan is probably the best Protoss in China and arguably the 3rd best Chinese player after Time and iAsonsu. She beat him easily. I'm afraid as a Protoss she would not be able to do that.
We can respectfully disagree about a race change. If she does make that switch I'll support her 100% and hope that I'm proven wrong.

... ... ... what?
What did you not understand? World class female players are extremely rare and this is a sport dominated by men from South Korea.
One could argue that her success and accomplishments have made her an outlier in this sport not an underachiever.

Wat.
By that argument every single pro player is an outlier and overachiever, since they are all performing better than the average player of whatever demographic category you can define.
Using demographic categories to infer the talent/potential of individuals is idiotic.

Why would the average player even be a part of your statistical database? Or are you saying that every single player can potentially be great just by changing their race?
1. She is the highest earning female gamer ever. According to you she has under performed her talent.
2. She has been a pro for 6 years. A serious pro for almost that long. She joined Acer in June 2012. I think we have some evidence to judge her talent on. How she has played?
3. She is not young for a professional Starcraft player. For crying out loud we have seen people much younger than her retire from the game. 21 and 22 year olds. Parting is 8 months younger than her and has been retired for almost 2 years! She is not some kid trying to find herself in this game.
A very simple question is this. If Scarlett did change races would you bet a significant sum of money or property that she would make it to Blizzcon and out of the group of 16 in 2018? Of course you would not.
Has a female player ever made it to Blizzcon? Has a foreigner ever won Blizzcon?
I'll close my side of the argument this way. I simply do not think a race change will help her be a more competitive player at the highest level. I respectfully disagree with those who think so.
That said I will still be a fan if she did change and would love to be proven wrong. Whether as a Zerg or as a Protoss I'll remain fan of her game. She has been a source of many great memories for me in this game I love so much.
The match against Bomber will always be one of my favorites.

The tail end of the argument wasn't so much about whether a race change would be helpful, but rather that being a white 23 year old woman has absolutely no bearing on whether you can play Protoss or Zerg better.
Also I don't think the mods appreciate people erasing warnings from their posts.

I erased the entire post not just the warning genius. If the post is objectionable I removed it.
Here are a few simple facts you might not understand. The best Starcraft 2 players are from the nation of South Korea and they are all men. Scarlett is not South Korean and she is not a man.
Starcraft 2 is a young person's game. There are no 40 year old professional Starcraft players. Many players, many, many have retired at a younger age than 23. A moron would think that age doesn't matter when it comes to a major decision like changing what race you play.
Age would be an issue in any sport you care to discuss. Boxing, soccer, American football, baseball. Any sport!
Somebody started a thread 2 years ago about the average career length of Starcraft progamers. According to the study done average gaming careers last 3 years 2 months. The median is slightly higher than that. Scarlett has been a pro for 6 years. She has been affiliated with a team for 5 1/2 years.
Fyi Leenock just announced he will be retiring after GSL Super tournament. He turned 22 in April. Myungsik also recently retired at age 22.

and nestea has won 3 gsl when he was 27 and 28. Snute is 27, he is pro since 2011 and he was in two wcs finals in a row. These examples are nonsenses, you are not old at 24 if you are still motivated to win.
