Would be cool to know who the finalists practice with. I could see Maru playing with ByuN and maybe Cure while TY goes to Special and Inno.

I am starting to get nervous. He's really gotta take it home this time. Btw hate the broadcast time. It's both kinda too early but also too late to be able to wake up and immediately check the result.

One of the most dominant GSL seasons ever in terms of map score. Wow, good point, 16-3 starting from Ro16, forgot about the 3-0 over DRG as well. All three races too, ZPT, TY had a great run. I thought the Deathaura game was a bit weird as well, the aggressive teleport seems like the sort of thing he should have known would/would not work if he's practiced the style. Maybe it was a spur-of-the-moment thing, I hope he talks about it during his recap video. I was also extremely angry at the 1HP CC on Golden Wall, and I'm like 90%+ sure he tilts if he loses that game b/c of it. But he kept his cool and played out the weirdest 2 base vs 2 base TvT better than Maru of all people (who is probably my pick, alongside Dark, for being the best player in scrappy situations), so that must have been a big confidence booster. TY's early game and late midgame TvT (somewhere between 130 supply and just before the starport switch) is so just so lethal, I think a lot of less avid TY fans forgot about it when comparing to Maru's KoB run, and it's been that strong for such a long time now. I think Maru holds his own in mass sky TvT, but TY's marine tank viking lib movement is just way too smooth, he seems to really know exactly why he's taking what fights where and when, better than anybody else in the world. A thing of beauty.

Well I for one was super tilted after that CC didn't die, thank god he won the game anyway. A thing of beauty. I think this is so on point, and it's also what used to be lategame TvT as well, before the Raven got so strong and BCs were buffed. TY is truly the master of bio/tank/viking -- even though he is no slouch at skytoss lategame either What a beautiful championship!

I'm happy to see some of the other Terrans catching on though, it probably forces him to reinvent and practice harder, which gives us better games

A thing of beauty. I agree with this and pretty much everything else you've mentioned too. He actually had Maru on the backfoot many times with excellent harass and army movement, which stunted similar harassments/skirmishes that Maru may have made and stopped several of Maru's pushes from reaching their full potential (eg. games 3 and 5). Maru was stuck moving larger clumps of his army around the map at many points (eg. game 2 and 6), which TY handled well with his strong positional game. It seemed like he made 2 major missteps with his army in G1 and G4 where he overcommitted and it most likely cost him the game (I wonder how much +3 air would have at least mitigated his losses in the overcommitment in G4 though), however most of the time he was trading well enough while he caused economic interruptions to Maru. His early game also seemed more creative and Maru mostly let TY set up strong middle games (which is obviously going to be good for TY). No doubt TY's TvT has been consistently brilliant for years and is so good to watch. I love how this year his preparation has been so on point and he has come up with so many original exploitative early game plays. It really seemed to culminate in S3 where the other parts of his game were on point at the same time. It made him look so strong in all matchups. Arguably DRG is one of the top few ZvT players in the world, Stats is one of the top 2 PvT players and Maru is definitely the hardest TvT match up. If season 1 he got some fortuidous match ups in his win (Parting and Cure) then it certainly wasn't the case this time around and he looked even better. I wish he had the opportunity to play Reynor/Serral offline right now, considering how good all 3 of them are looking.

Edit: in addition to catching the Korean for like "bionic", "mechanic", "seong-ju" since auto translate does not get those right at all lol Edit 2: https://youtu.be/FgSGvEY0_to?t=658 Lol, TY just found out that he missed the natural CC on Golden Wall hahahaha. I think he says something like "ahh, I thought he would just be down on one base, so I played accordingly, so this should have gone much worse for me" afterwards?

But what do you think the third moment is? That final game in the 2016 code s finals against Zest where he built a factory by mistake? Or something from one of the many other reverse sweeps? PS. Still smiling about the championship and the year in general

So TY said in the interview that he has three major moments in his career that he still regrets, and one of them is game 7 of his 2018 loss to Maru. Surely another one is the 2017 Blizzcon semifinals where he started Rogue's reverse sweep by building a bunch of ebays in panic, thus not going to that finals which he would have almost certainly won. But what do you think the third moment is? That final game in the 2016 code s finals against Zest where he built a factory by mistake? Or something from one of the many other reverse sweeps? PS. Still smiling about the championship and the year in general Great question! I definitely agree about moment 2. I reckon since he sometimes gets down on his chances he probably had that series conceded in his mind. I reckon it could be something like being reverse swept by Gumiho in the round of 8 or losing game 4 & 5 vs Dear in another round of 8 at GSL (possibly SSL), or losing game 5 to trap at the Kespa cup type event around the end of 2016. (He would have faced Neeb in the final, who like SoO in the 2016 Blizzcon final was terrible against T at the time.)
