I'm struggling to see a player in the Ro16 that TY would actually want in his group. Even the Terrans are risky cause they're all really good. Half the Zergs are his teammates and I think TY will look to avoid any Protoss he can including Zoun cause Zoun is kinda weird.

Wow, yes. This group of players is an incredibly bad fit for TY. There could maybe be a player like Armani who would be a decent pick, bit like you say he's a teammate. No idea who TY will pick. Dream? Things are not looking good if he's the best option.

First top seed in a while who got his group the way they wanted without using the swap at all. And Dream, Armani and Zoun is really doable even on his worst days.

Yeah that's a very good group. Perfect that Armani is happy too.

And even the rest of the groups lined up as well as one could hope for. In a Ro8 he would avoid Rogue, Dark, Trap, Zest.

Now he just needs to finish first, then (assuming Stats wins) he would meet either a terran or PartinG in the Ro8. PartinG is of course dangerous but at least TY seems to has his number so it should be a better matchup for him than Trap, Stats, Zest.

Belated happy birthday! Great present indeed.

But if somehow he gets there Clem would be a great matchup for him. Serral not so much...

Let's hope he has some disgusting stuff prepared for Reynor. He has known for a couple of days that a zerg opponent would be extremely likely. He has had some time to reach deep into that famed bag of builds.

Expected outcome but TY looked better than expected. No reason to be worried for GSL imo. Actually expected to see some mech though, maybe he's saving that for GSL

Yes that was not so bad at all, also taking the circumstances into account. It gives some optimism for his Ro8 match if he advances, which he absolutely should. He could still get Cure, but now it seems avoiding Zest should give him a decent shot at a Ro4, even though I don't think he's favoured against Solar.

He looked miles ahead of Dream in TvT in terms of understanding the match-up and keeping calm under pressure. Even 2 bad early games didn't do anything to him. TvP expectedly shaky.

Not a bad few days, considering he had chances vs. Reynor who is close to best in the world at the moment, really showed his tactical superiority vs. Dream and in TvP seemed to have figured out some late-game things (he let his army get countered by not transitioning, but had some good positioning vs Disruptor and better DT management than last time).

Looking pretty good in GSL again!

To be fair his takeaway from playing that series vs Zoun was that he shouldn't play late game TvP.

It's good to hear some confidence in his TvZ, and he did look good against Reynor, but I still feel Solar would be favoured against TY. Maybe it's just the feeling that Zerg will still win every game unless the Terran manages something special.

In any case, surely we can agree that Cure would be the best opponent for him.

I just don't rate Solar that highly to be honest. He's also a player who's always had trouble with preparation formats to the point that he's almost always eliminated in the group stages of GSL (which to be honest I could see happening again) and nobody has a bigger bag of builds than TY. I think DRG is scarier in ZvT.

Cure would be ideal but in my mind Cure either wins the group or is eliminated.

So it's going to be TY vs DRG. Not the easiest but it's an opponent TY has to be able to beat if he wants to make a deep GSL run again. He also has basically forever to prepare this match so that's gonna be interesting.

Yes that must be it, if you can't be DRG the finals are not where you should be.. It's not too uplifting to see how Cure lost though. It's a hard matchup for Terran these days.
