Yeah cause he totally needed ryu won to win Iron Squid and Kiev
Ryu Won was still part of SlayerS during both those tournaments. A player doesn't need a coach by their side in between each game, but they do need them for coaching during the normal practice period.
You realize MMA won Iron Squid with completely standard builds? Ryu won's effect was clearest in GSL Oct. where build preparation was key against MVP, but how can you give him credit for MMA's wins when his builds were as standard as standard gets? People seriously overblow the contribution Ryu Won made. After the initial build, everything is on the player
coaches also help with things like training schedule, finding practice partners, psychological states, etc too. not just builds
Ryu won wasn't MMA's personal slave, he was a coach for all the players on slayers. If you think a coach is deserving of even 20% of a single player's results then you're greatly misinformed

pretty sure he was MMA's and MMA's only, feel free to source anything to correct me though

why would i need a source to correct someone who himself has no source. It would be completely illogical for a coach to be hired for only one person, especially when he spent all his time at the team house. even if his original intention was to focus on mma, it would be ridiculous to think he didn't help with the other players with all that spare time
What's up with this guy. In game 2 against Squirtle at IPL 5, he stayed on two base, pulled all his scvs and try to go up both ramps on ohana to surround a protoss army?
Then he GG's like almost immediately. It seems like he is on tilt. This is not the MMA I use to know.

Ryu Won was not MMA's personal coach only, as that simply would not make sense for a team. Why hire a coach for a single player only?
Now, one gets that impression because MMA was the guy making it deep in all the major tournaments, so Ryu's time consequently got focused on MMA a lot. But Ryu was the strategy coach for Slayers, not MMA.

i checked it up. he was hired specifically for MMA only, and then later started coaching for slayers, but was still MMA focused

Really? Where was this info found? That seems highly impractical that a player would specifically get a personal coach. It just doesn't seem to make sense.

take jessica's word as you will. makes sense since ryu was mma's personal friend? i dno haha but slayers didn't seem that well run in the last year or so
