It's a fan club thread- if people don't like her they can stay TFO. Why is this so hard to understand?

I'm relatively certain the point was that they won't.

I like her as a commentator, too, but only because she's a hot asian.
+ Show Spoiler +And I guess because she's a good commentator, regardless of her accent or genitals

Can you link her wiki page in the OP seeing you take lots of your info from there? KellyMILKIES

If we had a male caster who spoke with as thick of an accent, you would not be crusading to defend him right now. TLO, RotterdaM, Khaldor all have heavy German or Dutch accents and even commentate in another language yet still get a lot of (deserving) positive feedback.

Because when I first clicked on it, it was called a support group, not a fanclub. Didnt change until after i submitted that. That's why it's "hard to understand"

Sign me up Also the OP is looking better already! I'm impressed. Goodwork people with the videos and goodwork OP for putting them front and center with your own opinion in a spoiler, that too is very professional. All in all a very solid post...
...Except the "support group" bit. I'm not sure if playing the pity card is necessary or even very beneficial here.

To clarify, as a non-english speaker i was not aware of the fact that "Support Group" had such a negative vibe to it. When translated directly into swedish, the meaning is literary the same as "Fan club" except with different wording.

I loved Kelly's high five revenge. Epic win. Epic.

Honestly, the high five maneuver was epic. That eclipsed anything Tasteosis ever concocted. That said, moments like those are very few and far between with Keltosis (LOL) and Telly.

I apologize for that, I really just read kellymilkies and support group and completely ignored the fanclub part. haha
It can have a negetive vibe in certain instances. support groups are usually for people with problems and they go to them to overcome and get rid of their problem. So in a sense, by making this a "support group" it is saying she has a problem and people need to make her feel better by saying nice things. So hopefully that can be changed soon

You know what, good for her. She has heart, she loves the game, she loves what she is doing. And in my book, that is first and foremost what is needed in order to cast. You guys nit pick so much about her pronunciation, etc - but I don't see YOU out there putting yourself up for the world to analyze YOUR behaviors and nuances.
Good luck, Kelly. Continue to grow and learn and enjoy this opportunity! Take what people say with a grain of salt and just continue to improve yourself and the cast and GOM in the best way you can.
Cheers.

I've been wanting to create a fan-club for her for a while now, but on looking at the other fanclubs, I could see that I didn't have the time to do it justice atm. Congratz to you and others like chocopan, wishbones, deL who added useful links.

I thought I'd never accept anyone but Tastosis doing the GSL but she already fits right in. Oh, and the high five diss is such a classic!! <3 Kelly

I couldn't have said it better myself... she loves what she does, she has improved just in the 2 weeks that she has been casting the GSL.
Someone who has passion for what she does and has the willingness to grow does not deserve such hostility. She doesn't have that bad of an accent really. If you are complaining about that then your just not trying in my honest opinion. If you just dont like her style I can understand that.
That being said...
You go girl keep doing your thing, follow your dreams, and let the haters hate - cause thats what they do.

1. She adds much needed diversity and colour to the scene. As much as i love tasteless and artosis and every other american caster/commentator, it gets tedious after a while to always listen to american/european males talk and analyze the games. I know some people are annoyed by her accent but i find it refreshing, energic and sincerley put; pretty damn cute.
Most people probably dont realize this, but for being born and raised in singapore, her english is really really good. I have traveled a lot through asia i can say that during my stays there, i never met anyone who had nearly as good pronounciation as her and noone came close to the volume of her english vocabulary (wich is REALLY impressive).
I dont think people realize how HARD it is for a person from her part of the world to learn to speak and understand english. As you might know, asian languages are fundamentally different from ours on the most basic level of speech; how you articulate speech. If you where to learn chinese or any other east-asian language you would pretty quickly understand the technical difficulities, because your vocal cords are not trained to the movements that those languages are built around, and it works the other way around. Listen to John for example, who is a very talented and hard working indivudual, but even he has a very hard time pronouncing certain words and phrases. I think its remarkable that kelly can speak and pronounce english so well and at such a fast pace (hehe) because most singaproreans could never come close to her level even if they trained for 25 years. SO WHAT if her pronounciation of some units/abilities is not perfect. She might say "Borrow" and "Steem" but its not like you dont understand that she is refering to Burrow/Stim. You get the message, so why be bothered?
You're arguing that she should be supported because she's not a white guy and that and she can't help her accent. You should support her because you enjoy her as a caster or want to see her succeed or something and not single out her shortcomings as reasons why she should be given preferential treatment. Don't treat people as charity cases for the sole reasons they are different. If you don't enjoy her, you don't, if you do, you do- both sides have valid reasons. Anything else is a disservice to her and every other caster out there that have their own challenges and what not.

I thought from the first day of Code A that she was decent and didn't deserve the criticism. She's not THAT hard to understand, and at least she's enthusiastic and knows a bit about the players and teams, and even a bit about strategy.
People just need to stop comparing her to her replacement (Artosis and Tasteless, alternating days), because nobody would be better than them. Good luck Kelly! You landed a dream job.
