oGsMC = the Bisu of sc2... Amazing PvZ and PvP but his PvT seems to be lacking as of late anyway.... Still I think he will overcome that Can't wait to see him Roflstomp the Up/downs and take vengeance on Code S!

The only time you can say that someone's macro slips is when
1. Their army isn't close to 200/200 yet and are floating 1k+ resources.
2. They aren't conserving resources for end game units (like I said above).
Plenty of players bank resources after their army hits 200/200 - it's impossible to spend anything otherwise.
Honestly, most of these pro players who practice many hours a day are pretty close in terms of macro ability. SC2 macro mechanics aren't difficult - I think what separates the good players from the bad is the micro mechanical advantage when engaging (sadly, still mostly blobs), and multi-tasking.
Thus, it's not surprising that WC3 players are doing so well - they are practiced and good at the other two categories, and the one category that BW players are the strongest at (macro), is nerfed mechanically in this game.

oGsMC vs. ThorZain, Game 4
It's like many have always said-- you don't see as many macro games from MC because most players don't survive past his first push, not because he isn't a top-flight macro player.
If you haven't seen this game already, it underscores that point beautifully. Epic.

I happen to know that for a fact because I was at a Copenhagen netcafe where MC trained prior to Copenhagen Games where I saw MC watch Thorzain's TSL matches. And I saw him practice that exact "on the fly response" against TLO. MC is definitely not a player who can make up stuff on the fly. If what you say is true, then it definitely was not an "on the fly response." However, I don't know why you would say he can't make up stuff on the fly :/ MC has great mechanics no doubt about that, but he doesnt strike me as a genius as far as build engineering goes. I saw him fall apart a couple of times against TLO and Cloud who were also there. MC basically created pre-January patch PvT. Ever seen a 3 Gate Void attack on a walled-in Terran? 6 Gate bunker bust of an FE'ing Terran? Yeah. You're welcome. As far as PvZ, his clinical dismantling of JulyZerg created the modern-day "Is this a 3 gate sentry expand? Or a cancelled-nexus 4 gate? I can't cheat on econ or units without being sure!" dilemma every Zerg faces in PvZ. MC is a creative as well as technically savvy player. Just because he did the build, doesnt mean it was he who came up with it. Edit: I am not bashing him in any way. He's obviously a great player with amazing control and mechanics and I am very much in awe after seeing him play at first hand, but to call him creative is something I wouldnt do. I've seen noobs do the things he does back in beta. It's just that he's so fucking good at doing it :p
He made it popular as well as refine it to a state that it is viable in top level play. If you think of all the top Protosses and see who is setting the trend for Protoss strats, it is MC.

Mc looked unstoppable like his run in the gsl 3 against Kas. So I hope he comes back stronger. I don't think that travelling all the time is good for his perfomance. If he can concentrate on one tournament he should do pretty well.

Since MC probably played NASL and TSL before Copenhagenm, I could see why he was on fire...

YO Mizu, you should add a list of his accomplishments , they're going to start piling up.

So true. MC makes many builds against T/Z "feasible" in top-tier fight. There is no new thing under the sun, what great people do is make refine it to its finest and execute it flawlessly.
Before MC, there is no Ro4 protoss. After MC, protoss IMBA. He DEFINES protoss. MC fighting!

InControl and Chill mentioned he was playing from the EU server for both TSL and NASL so he was in Denmark at that time, probably playing the group stages for Copenhagen.
