IdrA is playing Sen in the NASL tomorrow though.

Yeah. Should be interesting too, it seems to be the only match he's expressed being sincerely worried about losing for a while now.

He was simply describing what had happened when he first met cruncher in the elevator and that was it. Calling him "fat" was unprofessional indeed.. The reason why I am disappointed by it is that Idra is usually pretty funny and this was just lame, although a lot of people find it funny anyway.

The people who complain about Idra on this thread, by those standards, make him look unbelievably good.
I like that a lot, especially when considering the players he is on bad terms with.
On May 15 2011 04:56 grrr.ark wrote: the cruncher/idra thing goes back into beta. I forget which patch but it was when idra was playing protoss and 4gate was seen like every single game. idra flamed him in ladder when he lost to crunchers 4gate. they matched again and idra tried to 4gate him and got demolished and flamed again. Its most definitely not a recent thing between them so you know :p There mighta been something before that but afaik that was the first time cruncher played him
You sure about that? I've heard (two times, actually) DJWheat tell a story about how Cruncher was complaining about the downfall of W3 at Blizzcon last summe, so I'm assuming that he switched to SC2 sometime after that.

man, i freaking love BoC, but i don't think they'd be good starcraft gaming material. like when you watch idra on stream, he's always playing like in-your-face dubstep, i guess for most players it pumps them up, chill music doesn't usually get played lol

IdrA did a really good job on NASL I'm happy they let him cast and I sincerely hope he keeps casting in the future.

Most pepole would rather have someone who will entertain them, rather than someone who'll teach them.
Most pepole who watch SC2 aren't pepole who want to learn the game, and if SC2 will grow bigger as an eSport, the difference in numbers will be even greater.
IdrA is a great analyzer, and I would rather listen to him over almost any other caster, however, I don't fool myself into thinking that what I want is the will of all, or even that my point of view is superior.
Sports thrive on the casual viewers, because they are so much bigger in numbers, and thus, pepole who can attract others to watch the game are way more important to the expansion of the scene, attracting more viewers, getting bigger sponsors, than pepole like IdrA, who do NOTHING to help eSports grow, (from this practicular aspect) but rather make pepole who are already really invested in the scene understand more. Sorry, I should have rephrased. Most competent players prefer someone who's smart instead of someone who's screaming. Bad players enjoy being told that a OMG HE'S BUILDING A ROACH WARREN, where as good players enjoy "Now he's constructing this roach warren because he scouted the double helion opener and the map is large enough that he knows he can get them out in time" I totally agree. IdrA's cast helps me understand the game more than watching replay myself (As I am not that experienced with watching replays yet)
