All the game knowledge in the world doesn't make up for it when you can't remain tactful on the air when commentating on a game. Another thing that bothers me is the way that fans keep latching on to everything Idra says and taking it too far. I constantly see people bash Cruncher when he isn't even that bad of a player. The whole thing is being overblown. What it comes down to is: cruncher and Idra just don't like each other and there is no need for fans to get involved in perpetuating their bad manners against each other. In my opinion, he should just stay out of the casting scene until he can be more respectful. Good player though he is, being good does not a good commentator make. What exactly did he say to bm CruncheR during the games? From what I recall he called Voidrays really good. How is that bashing Cruncher?

Your opinion is a minority, even among people who are not idra fans. My point is that there is not really a reason to complain.

I think the better point is why you are saying it here? Nobody here controls who casts for the NASL and, honestly, IdrA doesn't care even slightly if you think he is unprofessional. If you are serious enough with your distaste for his casting, than make it clear it the people who use him as a caster and answer with your viewership (i.e. don't watch things he casts). Complaining about it in his fanclub, of all places, is meaningless.

Tell them you don't want him back unless he shapes up or something (lol). Bringing it to the fanclub thread will just make people point and laugh at you.

Everyone loves IdrA's casting because he says what he wants and brings his VERY high level game knowledge to the table, with that combination it's incredibly educational for a Starcraft 2 player and entertaining at the same time; so what you hate him for, everyone else loves him for.

This is what happens if you want neutral commentary/casting. + Show Spoiler + I find idra's casting amazing. Since he plays the race at an extremely high level, he is able to bring excellent game knowledge during the games to the audience instead of just regular play-by-play. I honestly did not find anything he said to have been BM, specifically the cruncher thing on NASL. He was simply describing what had happened when he first met cruncher in the elevator and that was it.

[B] No. Most pepole would rather have someone who will entertain them, rather than someone who'll teach them. Most pepole who watch SC2 aren't pepole who want to learn the game, and if SC2 will grow bigger as an eSport, the difference in numbers will be even greater. IdrA is a great analyzer, and I would rather listen to him over almost any other caster, however, I don't fool myself into thinking that what I want is the will of all, or even that my point of view is superior. Sports thrive on the casual viewers, because they are so much bigger in numbers, and thus, pepole who can attract others to watch the game are way more important to the expansion of the scene, attracting more viewers, getting bigger sponsors, than pepole like IdrA, who do NOTHING to help eSports grow, (from this practicular aspect) but rather make pepole who are already really invested in the scene understand more. Sorry, I should have rephrased. Most competent players prefer someone who's smart instead of someone who's screaming. Bad players enjoy being told that a OMG HE'S BUILDING A ROACH WARREN, where as good players enjoy "Now he's constructing this roach warren because he scouted the double helion opener and the map is large enough that he knows he can get them out in time"
