The comparisons to Lennon are... of uncanny resemblance.
This was missed between annoying walls of text.
Seriously. "Walls of text will draw a temp ban" should be added to the thread note as well. Nothing good comes out of them and they are annoying as hell.
nothing good for you maybe, people like to exchange opinions if it's in a cultured way and related to idra then why the hell do you even care? you have to scroll once more with your mouse and it's exhausting? i don't think everyone ever got banned for writing a long post and i hope it won't happen any time- that is if it makes sense of course.
I think they should be discouraged just because most of the time they don't serve a purpose. Usually people arguing on TL don't want to hear the opinions of others as much as they want to spread their own opinion. Also long posts are usually 80% filler and 20% content (or maybe 75/25). And long posts in the idra fanclub are either about balance or about idras mentality, and they end with nothing being determined.
We shouldn't discourage long post then, just discourage shitty posts.
I agree, but it just so happens that most long posts are shitty posts. Of course there are some that are actually insightful and innovative and arent mostly filler (like the breadth one posted today). But most of the ones in this fanclub are usually just drawn out arguments that have occurred before and that have no real solution. I've made the posts in the past too, until I realized that it was a waste of everyones time.
You should have read the posts instead of tl dr'ing them. You would have learnt that making claims without evidence is fruitless, yet here you are, making wild insulting accusations without being able to back it up with evidence.
Btw, I'm dumb and cannot find the vods for Idra casting Slayers v. Empire

Well, it seems to me that, those crappy long posts (IdrA's mentality & obnoxious balance post) are shot down and ones with filler are basically ignored or people only respond to the actual point of the post. I agree with you that most long posts are garbage. I feel that the obviously bad ones are handled well enough already and the good ones (or subtly good ones with too much filler) aren't very common, so they're not a problem imo.

I don't think you understand quite how big of a disadvantage that is. Any random masters player could beat Idra if they started off with 2 additional workers. There is practicing staying in the game when you have a chance...but what you are suggesting is just staying in the game when there is no chance at all.

That's honestly a big waste of time. There's a reason why IdrA quits a lot of ladder games kinda early. In a tournament he'd stay in because the game matters, but making a huge comeback has little to do with practice. The tactics needed to come back are those you'd use normally in other situations (harass/counters and whatnot). Making a massive comeback has much more to do with the opponent fucking it up than you doing something right. You can do everything right, but if they don't fuck up one thing, you won't win (as it should be. you were behind). Your first suggestion was absurd; although, I get the gist of what you are saying.
Basically, practices coming back from huge deficits is rarely worth the time. If he was at Red Bull, there are way more things he could work on. He'll never be there unfortunately because of sponsorship conflict

dragon actually played some handicapped games with less SCVs. won against masters. he also played mouse only once.
i think you dont realize how much better a GM is compared to some random master.
