If you come in here looking for "anime recommendations" then please refer to this chart before posting: Anime Recommendations (as of may 2014). We also have an IRC channel called #tladt where we all hang out. The channel is on Rizon, not QuakeNet! Feel free to check it out. TLADT discord is Discord.gg

More like Nadesico pretends to be Humanity vs Alien Monsters early on
. Getter Robo Armageddon is another towards the end, but I don't really like recommending this for someone's first Getter. GaoGaiGar is technically "Earth vs Alien Space Monsters" in the latter half, but it is in a fairly different style than what you may be looking for (its very 'old school' mecha, monster-of-the-week stuff).
There are plenty of bad ones out there, but I wouldn't recommend those.

I was going more for a "Humanity vs Space Monster" type thing. Like if its just aliens in general, there are plenty more Macross things I could recommend.

Happy birthday, btw
Thanks, but there is not much to celebrate about birthdays for me now T.T

i lied once in previous statements!
I vote 1, you can't really drop something at the OP, you just skip it.
Precisely. It's not likely so it's probably true. Gargantia aots however, now that's not even unlikely, that's downright absurd ;D
But in the same statement he says that Code Geass is a masterpiece a thing that everyone on TLAD agrees with, especially R2

It's quite enjoyable if you don't get annoyed by kirino. It may also depend on your tastes.
Well, not sure what your expectations were, but doesn't really change what I was expecting. PV pretty much just confirms that its going to be an anime original story, though. Not like that wasn't expected already, though. Also Mages was in the PV, so we have yet another Maker confirmed. Mages was newly introduced in Victory, so maybe that improves Hanakana's chances for getting in.

The first episodes were great. And then, things slowed down (the famous bikini episodes, ...) I gotta say the last episodes really put me back into the serie. I like the ethic questions the viewer can have, and also asking ourselves who is right and who is in the wrong (Alliance vs Aliens) - of course, nothing is white or black
Seeing "dead" character alive, at this point, isn't surprising... it feels cheap. Wonder if they will ever meet with the rest of the fleet
The "Alien", or humans turned bad feels like Blue Gender (still have that anime in my mind for some reason) ; humans being the reason of their own destruction!
I also just started Macross ; I am not too sure which one I've dled, but the animation/graphics are splendid
