Are there any anime series just as epic as this one? I'm looking for something similar where epic shit happens in every episode.
Code Geass.
Seconding this. Code Geass is the greatest of all time.
hhmmm i would say cg is shared #1 with deathnote (the first half of it)
Both are good in terms of pure entertainment value, but Geass edges DN out due to rollerblading robots in my opinion. Oh Lancelot, spinkick for me again.
wtf DN is easily better than CG. CG doesn't have a single likable character and DN has one.
DN doesn't even have any robots.
Whatever. It's not like CG had any good looking robots to begin with.
YO ZNF, we gonna have to fight. You have crossed the line.

My favorites are Turn A Gundam (show) and Vysaga (robot).
So cruel..... Why are you making me choose? In the event that LoGH and One Piece don't count as "shows with robots", then Robotech. As for favorite robot............. Very hard to pick between Kshatriya, Black Getter, and Nobel Gundam.

I will add in my favourite 'real robot' show which is FMP (before it became 'super'....) and the favourite super 'super robot' show has to be Gundam00, those map weapons @_@
You know... real/super definition has nothing to do with how powerful they are.

And somehow sentenal actually mentioned the biggest point:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Robot And yes, everyone knows about what is super robot (mazinger Z, Giant Robo etc) and real robot (basically spawned from the earlier gundam)
, nowadays some/many people (ie, not only me) just laughed at many so called 'real robot' that are in fact quite 'super'.
In Full Metal Panic, the mechs used by Mithril and Gauron are Super Robots, in that their technology and power is far beyond that of mechs that others use, including superpower nations. Also, the special equipment created from Black Technology that's on Sousuke's and Gauron's Arm Slaves relies greatly on the pilot's creativity and emotional state. They are real robots unless they are equipped with the Lambda Drive, and even then it's only when using it. Sousuke's robot seems to have a personality, but it's an AI that mostly exists to aid him (and tell the audience what they'd normally need to be able to read instruments to know). Which doesn't stop Sousuke from playing the straight man to his own robot in the final episode of The Second Raid. In-Universe, they are all reals robots. Except there is black technology, an incredibly advanced technology, which is used in some highly advanced prototype as the Arbalest and the Tuatha de Danann. as we know all highly advanced technology is magic.

It's real robot in SRW. Donno why you keep finding Chinese / English sources that have no clue what they are talking about.
Also Real robot / Super robot are GENRES, not specific designations for mecha. It makes no sense for same series to have both real and super robot unless it's a specific part of plot like in SRW OG.

I feel bad about the ending... I mean there are a lot of twists and + Show Spoiler +
it ends on a bit of a good note
... I guess I just needed a happy episode for once. Are there two happy episodes in there somewhere that I missed? There's definitely a lot of depressing parts... like, there are happy parts but sad parts at the same time.
Haven't rated it yet. I'm not sure how I feel about it. =/
Edit: Also, I probably need another series to watch. I haven't seen Tatami Galaxy, not sure if I'm that interested in it.
