If you come in here looking for "anime recommendations" then please refer to this chart before posting: Anime Recommendations (as of may 2014). We also have an IRC channel called #tladt where we all hang out. The channel is on Rizon, not QuakeNet! Feel free to check it out. TLADT discord is Discord.gg

Trapeze... not so good IMO and Blue Literature I'm going to keep watching it at least, can't really decide with only 1 episode.

That sucks. I just finished the first season and was really looking forward to the 2nd being not so ambiguous and open ended. ):

I only watched Trapeze and I absolutely couldn't finish it because of the artstyle. Too much brigt colours and it seems the studio was just being lazy by adding photoshop-filtered 3D backgrounds and faces as well as 3D live action. The 2D animation was pretty lacking too. The story was pretty meh as well and the psychology stuff bores the hell out of me.

Not my cup of tea I guess.

Haven't watched anything recent since Eden of the East.

What's the new hotness these couple of seasons?

There is a Naruto thread for that, go before Kona's wrath descends on you.

I am skeptical of the latter because of the original work, hard to come up with something to match it. They've done a manga adaptation recently, I believe, but that didn't exactly drew praises.

Then again, to me, there is little point to watch something that ultimately only makes me want to read the original with little to offer on its own.

Baka-tsuki hosts a number of translation projects for light novels, the progress and quality of them vary, some of them have glaring mistakes (I should check to see if that Haruhi translation still has sashimi translated as salted fish), while others look quite good (Baronh in Seikai series, so good~). A good amount of them are translations from Chinese (Jap->Chi->Eng), so that's another turnoff. I know that Wolf and Spice is being worked out, but how far along I am not quite sure.

I'm watching Darker Than Black 2, Sacred Blacksmith (it's mediocre) and have watched first episode of Armed Librarians (its shit, but I'm willing to give it a second episode). Gonna watch first ep of Isekai soon and Kampfer, the manga was okay, but the anime seems better.

Baka Tsuki is a wonderful site but I am worried about the Fate/Zero translation since all but one of the translators translate from Chinese to English. But other than that, I am enjoying the novel very much, I find the writing and characters much more likable than the ones in the Fate/Stay Night game.

Yeah, I looked it up. The project seems to be trudging along veeerryyy slowly, unfortunately. :\

That's one I wouldn't worry about actually, the T-M fanatics are, well, fanatics. Like whatever sicko that is translating Banner with Baronh intact, they are probably not ones to compromise on translation quality. Stuff like Index or Seitokai no Ichizon on the other hand seems to be in dire straits.

Though on another thought, the quality of translations there vary sharply too. I recall reading a translation of a Kagetsu Tohya story that was excellent, but rakkyo translations are rather lacking in comparison to the original work. That can be blamed on the difficulty of the original work though.

As for speed, all such translation projects go along slowly. I am about average with the language, and even that took forever to translate some relatively short segments of a light novel, now toss in the fact that this is a volunteer outfit, need for editing (which some clearly lack)... Luckily some things are easier to translate than others, with Wolf and Spice totally easier than the insanities like Bakemonogatari or Kara no Kyoukai.

What does really worry me is that the Haruhi translation is going to get kicked off the site sometime in the near future due to copyright. I remember all the commotion when the news got out that Little Brown was releasing an official translation.
