Other than that, it's an extremely solid series. That sucks. I just finished the first season and was really looking forward to the 2nd being not so ambiguous and open ended. ):

Too much brigt colours and it seems the studio was just being lazy by adding photoshop-filtered 3D backgrounds and faces as well as 3D live action. The 2D animation was pretty lacking too. The story was pretty meh as well and the psychology stuff bores the hell out of me. Not my cup of tea I guess.

On October 24 2009 12:45 Shauni wrote: anyone seen Trapeze or Blue Literature yet? I am skeptical of the latter because of the original work, hard to come up with something to match it. They've done a manga adaptation recently, I believe, but that didn't exactly drew praises. Then again, to me, there is little point to watch something that ultimately only makes me want to read the original with little to offer on its own. On October 24 2009 15:48 PH wrote: That sucks. A good amount of them are translations from Chinese (Jap->Chi->Eng), so that's another turnoff. I know that Wolf and Spice is being worked out, but how far along I am not quite sure. Yeah, I looked it up. The project seems to be trudging along veeerryyy slowly, unfortunately. :\

But other than that, I am enjoying the novel very much, I find the writing and characters much more likable than the ones in the Fate/Stay Night game. That's one I wouldn't worry about actually, the T-M fanatics are, well, fanatics. Like whatever sicko that is translating Banner with Baronh intact, they are probably not ones to compromise on translation quality. Stuff like Index or Seitokai no Ichizon on the other hand seems to be in dire straits. Though on another thought, the quality of translations there vary sharply too. I recall reading a translation of a Kagetsu Tohya story that was excellent, but rakkyo translations are rather lacking in comparison to the original work. That can be blamed on the difficulty of the original work though. As for speed, all such translation projects go along slowly. I am about average with the language, and even that took forever to translate some relatively short segments of a light novel, now toss in the fact that this is a volunteer outfit, need for editing (which some clearly lack)... Luckily some things are easier to translate than others, with Wolf and Spice totally easier than the insanities like Bakemonogatari or Kara no Kyoukai.
