Ah episode 00. First time I watched it I thought I got trolled, then I liked it, then I read the novels and rewatched and it became awesome of awesomes.

Haha, episode 00... I watched like 3 minutes of it, then skipped through thinking "wtf is this" - watched the rest of the series (in broadcasted order), ended up becoming my favorite series - and after all of that, went back and rewatched episode 00 and it was funny/good. I couldn't handle sitting through it my first time through the show though x_x

I thought episode 00 was good but the making of the movie from the light novels was epic. One thing I wish to see more in the Haruhi series is the other members beside Kyon and Haruhi interact with each other. Koizumi and Mikuru especially since I almost never see the two of them talk.

I thought it was a bad way to start it. I heard from friends that it was a good series, and I went to watch it from episode 00 and i was just like wtf. I got what episode 00 was supposed to be afterwards.

I thought episode 00 was not the best start since I was about to close the anime and conclude that was perhaps the worse anime I have seen but I do not know where else to put 00 in the series.

The thing with Suzumiya is that it is designed for an audience that already has a bit of knowledge about the series. If you just go in without knowing a thing about the series, well, you are just bound to be overwhelmed by the insanity that 00 was. Sighs made 00 a ton better, imo (though in itself wasn't that great, both of them).

As for character interaction...well, we weren't given much of anything about actions of that kind until fairly recently (if we ignore this 2+ year blank in publishing). The focus is about Haruhi, the integrity of the SOS-dan comes much later in terms of how the plot advances.

Well so would I, but the faith in Kyoto is evaporating. We would watch it because it is Haruhi, not because we expect it to be well produced.

Then again, I actually liked Endless Eight. Terrible PR move, but a fascinating artistic one.

I remember having a small celebration hearing about the release of the second season but I feel a bit worried about the release of Disappearance. Tatsuya Ishihara is also directing it but I guess we can consider the second season one of his great mistakes.

If by chronologically you mean airing chronology, yes. If you mean by order of events, then you are one sick person. Even the books are completely out of order for all practical purposes.

Looks like I am going to settle for DtB2, Railgun, Seitokai, Kobato, 11eyes (total bias for media), kimi ni todoke and maybe Blacksmith for this season. Half of them I simply might drop once the whole "ooooh animated" excitement fades and the want to read prevails. If I pick up anything else, it'll probably be at the season's end for mass watching.
