i think its a little soon to say hes weak just because he cant stand up to the straw hats and some of big mams top guns
Its not just that he loses to them; its that he's gotten one-shotted four times. Also his attitude is kinda pathetic.

If I remember correctly part of the reason his bounty was high (its not even that high) was because he killed marines.
Who cares about Caribou. Logia is a good design and it's interesting that there are natural counters to them (Mizu Luffy or Rubber Luffy). A good logia doesn't rely on invulnerability anyway, if you've seen any of the Admirals fight you see them controlling their element as a means to achieve their ends.
The amount of time the anime can extend mundane scenes in a main story arc is amazing. Inside the the laboratory it was just constant shots of them running and running and more running from the smoke. Monet taking forever to fail at pushing the god damn button and every individual characters reaction face. It's still worth watching for the times the it has good animation of great fights from the manga.
Jesus christ the end of this weeks anime episode. I mean, we all know what happens over the next little while but the hype and fucking sheer terror they're creating based on those last 2 minutes.....
The way they portrayed him moving through the air and the seemingly emphasis on the amount of clouds around him makes sense since we now know how his DF works.

Considering they ran alot from the smoke, it seems to have been justified. Monet talked alot because she had a lot on her chest. Also building up the scene. You can't assume a dialogue is over in the same time you read it in a manga. That's just absurd, and a reason why it's much quicker to read manga than watching anime (which tends to expand and "drag out" opportune moments either because they can (standard practice), or because it'll help the mood (as is most cases in OP).
Had you not read the manga beforehand and knew what was going to happen you'd probably not see it the same way. It's a fairly common sideeffect of watching the slower anime after you've read the relatively fast-paced manga.

I'm pretty sure it's noticeable even to someone who just watched the anime. Isn't not at thriller bark that they changed it to be one chapter equals one episode? Before that the show was much faster paced.

Can't remember. But I'd rather have one episode per chapter than fillers. It's still not bad, just a little less snappier. And you always have the option to use alt/ctrl+right arrow to make it go quicker and skip the "downtime".
i would actually rather have fillers. rather than drag out every arc and make them all painful to watch, why not make all the arcs pleasant to watch and then add a filler which can serve as a nice break.

yeah, why did they stop with OP fillers some were really really good

No, One Piece has had the same pacing since thw beginning. Go back and check, its always been about 1.5 chapters per episode. People complain about the anine's pacing once they get caught up and can't marathon it anymore, when in reality its been going at pretty much the same pace throughout the whole thing.
Ive stopped watching the anime at uh...Moria ghost ship arc (thriller bark, remembered after typing) I kinda miss it for its awesomeness but then i remembered this shitty arc with its slow ass pacing and dumbass penguin zombies. Ive always managed to make it through OP's lulls and sillyness (it IS a kids show afterall) but this arc damn, so bad.
Im going to start reading the manga and just watching good eps i think because fuq thriller bark. I smashed through the last arcs in about a week (water 7 and the connected one.) before this. That was 3 months ago

That's actually not right. Let me give you some stats: Alabasta began on episode 93 and ended on episode 130, making it 37 episodes long. For the manga, it began on chapter 157 and ended on chapter 217, making it 60 chapters long. So for Alabasta the ratio is roughly 1 episode to 1.62 chapters. Now for Thriller Bark and the Florian Triangle: began episode 337 and ended episode 381. 44 episodes. Similarly, it began on chapter 442 and ended on chapter 489. That's a 1 to 1.07 ratio. The anime started getting slower around the middle of Water 7 so by the time we reached Thriller Bark it was already at the 1 chapter per episode pace. The belief that the anime was a lot faster and more tolerable in the past is not just nostalgia goggles, it's fact.
imagine if the anime slowed down so much that ratio became 1: 0.XX i wonder what it would look like.....slow motion gatling guns and dbz-esque fight scenes?
