It really shouldn't be surprising that Bon Clay is alive when you think about it though if Magellen just beat him with his fists.
Law apparently needs to hide for some reason so is willing to do grunt work for CC until it becomes inconvenient. For some reason Law wants to talk/deal with Smoker on his own. Originally I thought Law was being black mailed by CC who was holding his crew hostage, but apparently Law is theire voluntarily and his crew are somewhere else. Interesting why he doesn't have his crew with hm. dude Arlong is dead Luffy kinda dropped a building on him Arlong's fate isn't clear. Not to mention plenty of people in One Piece have survived worse things than "dropping a building on them." Ace and Whitebeard are the best counter-examples for people complaining that no one dies in One Piece, so IDK why Arlong got brought up. actually there is also a bunch of people in flashbacks dying ;P like Sabo
and Brook

But the usual complaint is that "no one ever dies in the present". Pell was a great example of that, back in Alabasta. And until Ace/Whitebeard, that was true. Now it isn't.

I'm a big friggin' idiot for forgetting about Ace nad Whitebeard. But to be fair, Whitebeard was set up as the most powerful character in the world JUST so Oda could kill him off to showcase why Teach is so dangerous. WB was not really important to plot otherwise and we don't learn much else about him/feel anything for him.
As for Ace, VERY minor character until the Marineford Arc, and then, yeah, we do learn quite a bit about him and the past.
I suppose Oda can't be killing off characters left and right, but you'd think there'd be more deaths (both major and minor characters) in a manga going for 11 years.
+ Show Spoiler +Brownbeard just died though. Yay!

when they were talking to Hachi while he was in the cage at the fish riders base. He said that Arlong and the others go captured. He's probably at Impel Down or got executed we don't know. I'm sure that every single prisoner from level 1 to 5 didn't get released when luffy and the gang broke out. Also there is always the chance that Arlong died while in ID whether it was from Shiliew or naturally.

I guess if you take away flashbacks you can say people don't die, but to me, that logic doesn't really make sense. They still died in the manga... Robin's whole island population was killed, and that was really freaking sad. But, Caribou's crew did die in the sea. Also, Pell was the eagle guy from Alabasta, right? I thought when he looked at his tombstone, he was actually a ghost realizing he was dead. But, I guess you can argue that, outside of flashbacks, no one important dies. There are plenty of people dying in One Piece. The war of the strongest had so many casualties, and I doubt that all of the fishmen zoro attacked at Arlong Park survived. Or that no one in the Alabasta war died. And didn't Vivi's partner from Baroque works die? He got exploded.

Nobody really dies in One Piece. That is a valid point really no matter what. A lot of no name characters are shown being killed or implied to have died. Flash back deaths yes, but many characters of the present go through things that should kill them, but do not.
Pell did not die either. That was confirmed even before the time skip http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Pell#After_the_War
Mr 9 did not die. He even got a panel page telling his post time skip status http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Mr._9#Two_Years_Later

Somewhat true. No.3 didn't die even though he got melted by Mallegan off-screen. Was pretty sure that was the last we'd see of him. Now he's on the front page lol.

Given that we didn't see his face, I think his face was melted.

Magellan doesnt seem the type to kill in cold blood it took alot to really push him to actually start going into massacre mod which is why Luffy survived so since No.3 was the only prisoner left and was all alone im not surprised Magellan just immobilized him and threw him in a cell

You guys should reread the manga to get the facts right ...

Sabo was never confirmed to be dead ... in OP people don't die by explosions ...
But, Caribou's crew did die in the sea. Caribou's current crew is still alive. Dunno if he had a previous crew....

Two words: Edo Tensai
Nobody really dies in Naruto because they just get resurrected to form a super army anyway!

Whitebeard was about as important to the plot as characters get... Fishman Islands were under his protection, the whole war was because of dark dealings inside his own crew ( Teach's betrayal ).

They're still dead though, not really a true resurrection by any means.

Wow I didn't noticed it until just now ! Monet - Ceasar Clowns chick. She might be an Zoan user ... check this : http://mangastream.com/read/one_piece/10761248/11
When we first saw her, she had wings instead of arms, but she seems to be able to transform them to normal arms ...
Is she some Bird Zoan ?

The way she appeared, I thought she might be another mythological zoan like Marco's phoenix. Moent looked a lot like the image of a harpy.
