As a ramification from my previous post on movie night. TDKR is easily 7/10 from my book.
There are some scene in which that the camera could cut off instead of holding it too long that probably could have shortened the movie by half an hour and therefore increased the adrenaline. But overall speaking, the acting from Hathaway was pretty sweet along with Christian Bale. So did Batman + Show Spoiler +really died from the nuke or not ? Now that's a question.

The Dark Knight Rises spoiler + Show Spoiler +If you mean whether Bruce Wayne died, I think it's pretty clear he did not. Alfred saw Bruce seating with Selina Kyle, whom he has seen only once and has no reason to believe she has any link to Bruce. This is in addition to all the little "clues" he left behind (auto-pilot for batwing, bat signal repaired etc.) As for whether the Batman figure is dead, I doubt it. Robin Blake is probably going to assume the mantle for the next Batman.

Looking for movies that have some interesting original concept attached to them while still maintaining high production quality. I was a big fan of moves like Inception and Matrix, the game and throught a movie like Limitless was pretty good as well. Any suggestions?

I agree.
+ Show Spoiler +i have ot admit I didn't really get it until I realized what Algiers was saying, that he didn't know which one of him died each time, whether it was him speaking, or the clone that was created. Knowing that each clone would have the original memories intact, there would be no way of knowing whether he was a new clone, or the original guy that was sending 100s of clones to their death. Not knowing when he pulled the lever, whether he dropped into the water and drowned, or whether he was transported, and the clone drowned. Or did I interpret it wrong?

Favorite film by Nolan. + Show Spoiler + I thought it was made pretty clear that the original one is dying every time he does the trick, and the clone goes on to live? It would make sense because he says something about how bothered he was that one of his earlier tricks wasn't as good because he was the "man behind the curtains" and it was only the man in front of the audience who got to enjoy the full impact of the prestige. But yeah, like starfries said, the point really isn't the trick itself but the toll and sacrifice his obsession had. The last scene really gets to me because of that.

Roman Polanski's Frantic was pretty awesome. Harrison Ford gives an awesome performance.

I rewatched Mulholland Drive and I still recommend it so wholeheartedly.
Yes, it's written and directed by David Lynch. Yes, it's two hours. Yes, it's not especially first time viewer friendly. Yes, the story can be confusing. No, the script is not written to hold your hand and explain everything that you didn't get yourself at the end.
But it's so gorgeously shot (that analogue film! that lightning! those angles!), the acting is so good, the atmosphere is amazing and it's so satisfying to rewatch for the second or even the tenth time. If you're fed up with superficial drama, predictable storylines and the utterly simplified storytelling of most mainstream film, watch it. This movie treats you like an adult.
(And when you're done falling in love with it, watch Inland Empire. That movie's so good. His older movies are great too.)

I liked Inland Empire, but Mulholland Drive is still my favorite of the two. Blue Velvet is brilliant too. Lynch's use of music and audio in general is spectacular.

I confess to have never seen Mulholland Drive, but watching Inland Empire with the volume right up and all the lights off is an experience like no other. What a crazy, amazing film.

+ Show Spoiler [Why I hated this] + This was so dumb. Usually I'm willing to grant one suspension of disbelief for a movie but this one required like 17. "Oh hey guys - not only do I not die of natural causes, I also managed to survive for 30.000 years without dying from accidents, wars, the black plagues, famine, natural disasters, angry humans and any other of the one million things that people have died from throughout the ages, and on top of that I'm also Budda AND Jesus. Sup."

The problem with Mulholland Drive is it's so dependent on its ending to make it work that when I saw it, in the middle I was mostly thinking "WTF is this, this is so not good, is this a joke?" I was figuring something would come around to validate it eventually and it does, but if I didn't know David Lynch I might have bailed in the middle.

A friend advised the animation movie "Red Line" (2009) to me recently, and I must say I enjoyed it thoroughly.
Be it for the animation, the colors and angles used, the graphical aspect of the movie is top notch (Madhouse studios).
Scenario wise, there is nothing stellar, but still enjoyable : " Redline is a science fiction auto racing anime film set in the distant future, where a man known as JP takes on great risks for the chance of winning the titular underground races. " + Show Spoiler +
This movie's particularity is it was made over a 7 years period, and is mostly hand drawn. ( amazing )
A solid 8.5 / 10 for me.

My most recent watch aswell but I actually liked it. It was some over 2 hours long and I didn't get bored once. Usually I often start browsing random stuff on my other monitor but I didn't for this one. Sure it had some crappy parts like + Show Spoiler + but meh I liked it.

Well it is Lynch. I think you have to be prepared to not always get all the necessary pieces of the puzzle until the end (or ever). His movies require a bit of open mind.

Everything lends from somewhere. Battle Royale has a lot of similarities to Lord Of The Flies for instance. Hunger Games has plenty of problems, but the fact that it shares some story with Battle Royale isn't really that big a deal.

It's hard to do good scenes with + Show Spoiler +, just ask Nicholas Cage.

Sita Sings the Blues.
A pretty interesting indie film. The story is basically a retelling of the Ramayana, but the style is charming. I'm not sure why I liked it so much... maybe because it's so different from the movies I usually watch. But it's definitely worth checking out. Best of all, it's released free on youtube.
