The bastard is disobeying robbs order wich was to bring him before him so he could look him in the eye before chopping of his head. Roose letting jamie go doesnt look good either, i understand him being afraid of tywins wrath but is it possible that he has lost faith in the norths cause and hopes to be pardoned by tywin for supporting robb by sending jamie back? I have discussed this before in this thread. I firmly believe Robb lost his war the day he chopped Karstark's head and married the wrong girl. Why would Walder Frey support Robb now when he "lost" the war when Karstark's army went home? Besides, according to last episode, the Freys did know that Robb broke his promise... Yeah man. In theory it would be easier for the Freys to betray Robb but who the hell knows. George R. R. Martin is crazy... He's still won every battle, saved the riverlands and captured Tywin's son.
But he lost 2000 men in that initial diversion, he lost the Karstark men, the Freys, his most valuable prisoner, lost Winterfell and that defensive fortress between the north and south to the Ironborn, Roose Bolton is sensing defeat so he's releasing Jaime to secure his stand post war and with the full might of Highgarden there's no chance he can attack King's Landing. Maybe there could be some external element like the Iron Bank helping him, but I'm not sure that there are even enough sellswords for him to even up the odds.
He could take Castley Rock and sue for peace so he can at least go back and deal with the Ironborn, but with his royal cuntness on the throne it's not very likely that would happen, unless Tywin somehow forces him. And it's not even sure if Tywin would even accept it, maybe he's pissed at Robb for outplaying him in some battles and wants to anhilate him to secure the Lannister legacy.

Tyrells have yet to do anything but serve their own interests. They rebelled when they thought Renly would win and elevate them and when that fell through they saved the life of the king in exchange for becoming royalty and making the crown dependent upon them but there's no reason to think they'd be eager to invade the north. The crown lands are without a real army, Dorne haven't said anything supportive, Lysa is doing her own crazy thing, the Stormlands are devastated. The actual combatants in this war are the north and the riverlands against the west and the iron islands.

The dragonglass looks like obsidian, so maybe white walkers are afraid of them because obsidian is cooled lava?

Aye. (The things I learned from minecraft ) Sam even mentions obsidian is another word for it.

Lol I thought I clicked on the last page of this thread, but I was still on the first. I read the comments and got really excited, thinking there was a new Game of Thrones movie coming out or something x)

Sam mentions that the maesters do, indeed, call "dragonglass" obsidian.
Obsidian is lava that is cooled extremely quickly so that it doesn't have time to form smaller structures. It forms when things like volcanoes erupt into the ocean.
Probably in this world it was somehow constructed as a result of some sort of dragon interaction. Otherwise it's poorly named. This blade I think does have some significance, though what I couldn't guess at.

Given that dragonfire melts rock (see harenhal), and lava = melted rock. it's definitely possibly for dragons to create obsidian.

The torture device that Theon is strapped to is the same as that of the Bolton sigil, sure, but that doesn't really mean anything. You can probably find that exact device in every dungeon in every castle in Westeros. Although I agree that it most likely is the Bolton's that's torturing Theon (I'm having a hard time making sense of the sacking of Winterfell if it's not the Boltons that's behind it), it's not at all proven in any way.
I always get the feeling that there's plenty of people in here that knows more than has been showed this far, be it from reading the books or just having been spoiled (the internet is dark and full of spoilers). If it now is the Bolton's, many here already knows it and feels "herp derp now they've gotten enough hints to it being the Bolton's so I just pretend it has been proven in the shows and then spoil it for everyone".
Also, I found the Tyrion+Shae+Sansa scene hilarious, especially with Sansa being unaware of Tyrion's and Shae's relationship. Awkward indeed.
Edit: Also, if the writers is thinking that it's obvious to everyone that it's the Bolton's holding Theon, then the torturer tricking Theon into believing his held by the Karstarks would lose all it's intended effect on the audience. Just saying.

As someone who has read the books, there definitely people in here trying to spoil things and discretely lead show watchers to the right conclusions. I'd be careful about being in this thread in the coming weeks.

Exactly. People has read the books, they detect small hints and foreshadowing that is unnoticeable for non-book-readers, they make the correct conclusions from these hints and all of a sudden they spoil what's gonna happen and claim it's "obvious".
"Look, Danaerys can walk into a steaming hot bath without making a face AND she's been given dragon eggs. Obviously the dragons will soon hatch, let's go tell everyone!"

Admittedly, when I was watching the first episode with my (non-book-reading) friends and they saw the dragon eggs the very first comment was "Oh gee, those things are -so- going to hatch."

But yes, I've noticed it too.

If Sam is the key to winning the war against the White Walkers, I'm done with this show forever.

I actually expected them to be Mcguffins... The only fantasy to that point was the White Walkers of the first episode. The rest was from the history of the land.

Don't worry, I thought that with the books too. However, I didn't predict that they'd hatch in Drogo's funeral pyre
And yeah, I try not to read this thread, because it is hard to talk about current events without spoiling anything. I've reported some people from this thread though, who with my 20/20 hindsight clearly had too much information.

I'd forgotten about Harrenhal, yeah. The trick, however, is not in melting the rock, but in cooling it quickly enough to prevent crystal growth. Definitely possible, especially in the North, which is where our buddy Sam's dagger was found. Snow is kind of cold, after all.

Editing this incase there was a problem.

I'd be careful about being in this thread in the coming weeks. This is absolutely the case. People are 100% clearly posting spoilers in this thread trying to pretend they don't know what's going on.. I've been lurking this thread for a long time, but I only post in the book thread. Lets just say that there are a lot more accurate predictions here than there are not, and that if you truly don't want to be spoiled you shouldn't be looking at this thread either. There are a lot of assholes here who just don't give a damn.
I've read the entire thread T.T fuck. Report whoever you think is spoiling and message a moderator as to your case, thx : D haha

I'm reporting the people I think are doing it, but what can a mod really do? Ban everyone who makes an accurate prediction? People are just being dicks, so I really cannot stress how much better off you will be by not reading this thread until the season is over. It sucks, I know, but I guarantee in the coming weeks it will get worse.
