I recall the actor from a British dark comedy TV show called Misfits, where he played an introverted pseudo-main character. Hes a good actor indeed. Don't search him up or you will be spoilered. I realized the actor's wiki spoiled -_-

Edit: Ha, you caught it right as I was replying.

It serves no discernible purpose in the short to medium term. Hes just getting sadistically tortured. We certainly dont need to see it as often as we do, its long been established the guy torturing theon is just some random sadist. We can go back to it later on and discover who he is, but instead, we see it every episode for 3-4 minutes. And I imagine the books had similar distressingly pointless examples of him getting tortured. Its creepy. How crazy would it be if that dungeon servant is just a hallucination Theon is having spurred on by the immense guilt he feels from betraying the Starks? Really implausible but it would certainly make theon a lot more interesting as a character. Right now, he's just pitiful and bland.

He's been constantly struggling with his allegiances ever since Season 1, and now is being mercilessly tortured for no apparent reason. Some of his scenes from Season 2 had you hating him and some had you feeling sorry for him. You aren't intrigued as to why this is happening to him now?

Until you know how it relates to the game of thrones, it doesn't matter what situation theon is in, no1 cares.

Compared to her I want Joffrey nothing but happiness and love to the end of his days. Shes so intolerably annoying and poorly written. Oh, look at me, I'm edgy because I'm old and flout convention and say shit abruptly and without tact. Ugh. Ugh. Can't anyone just watch the show without trying to deduce the intentions of the writers of every line in the show and criticizing those assumed intentions? Westeros has some powerful and important people in it. They say what they want and they make things happen, and some of them happen to be old because they've been doing this for a long time. Is that something so impossible to exist in the real world? Is it so distracting that an older person would be experienced and powerful and not care to follow every social convention, that it can only make you think "oh the writers are trying too hard to come up with wacky ideas in the name of trying to entertain people"? Sorry but it seems just fine to me. The only unrealistic part is that the conversations are too succinct and too witty to happen in real life, but guess what- this is TV. Wit and humor are good things, and no one wants to watch a an hour long meeting where they discuss all kinds of things before slowly getting to the point.

He has no impact to quest of the throne, and for all intents and purposes is dead and useless. until you learn what or why he is doing what he is doing, him and his captor are irrelevant. Until we know what is actually going on, they will stay irrelevant.

Indeed and there are so many different story arcs going on i don't want to even count them and there are only so many episodes to fit all this shit in. I kinda feel sorry for the writers they have to squeeze so much into these episodes and decide what to skip entirely etc. I just don't get incredible hype over this show i mean it's pretty good but it works so much better in the books.

Books are better than television in general, but we so rarely get decent television shows with subject material like this, so let us enjoy it.

A really cliched wall scene, a lame montage where little finger gives a speech I'm pretty sure we've already heard, a boring sunset ending shot, and (most importantly) a severe lack of violence and boobies. I feel like you're watching the wrong show if all that interests you are violence and boobies.

Hopefully Bran's story actually leads to something happening one day. Also show is getting a bit like Lost, so many characters that if you see them in an episode, chances are you wont have to tune in next week as they wont be there.

Bran meeting up with Jon Snow, and the two of them heading south to warn the realm of the pending invasion seems like the most useful route. I mean he's heading towards the wall, so he's either going to meet with someone there, and travel back south, or just, you know, get there wait to die.

Fairly certain you're looking for Spartacus, not GoT.
