I thought it felt a bit rushed. To people who did not read the books, the part with the direwolves doesn't make any sense. They don't explain that one guy is the bastard and that he doesn't mind not having a pup and then gets the albino one. Only later with the Imp they stress that Jon is a bastard, but then he looks different. All a bit confusing, imo.
Also, the part with the barbarian girls with their chest covered but titties out was a bit weird as well. Either don't have them have their titties out or have them topless. Now it felt like tacked on nudity, to me.
They should really do a who's who with this many characters, imo. Maybe they'll do that still.

They did character features for every major character. It's been on HBO.com and youtube for like a month.

Jon being a bastard is the not the center of this story and universe and does not need to be stressed from the start. Jon's story does not become really important until book 2/3 anyways.
Barbarians were having a celebration. They can do whatever they want with their clothes when they are all drunk.

I loved how they dont say Jon is a bastard outright till later, but its there from his first few lines and the glances for thoose thinking about it. 'Father' 'Your mother' Dothraki were abit meh, to quick paces with Visy and Dany. But I suppose its sacrifaces they have to do.
To much tits! With such little time to introduce characters and story elements, do we realy need to spend a third of the show watching titties as a main focus =(
Absolutely love the characters, Cersei is beautifull but they need better lightning/makeup to bring it out. The dog helmet flapping in the wind was abit silly :-/ Need to strap that visor down!

I think in the book they say that the dothraki men and woman wear leather chests over bare chests. Tits were fine :p. I didn't like the wedding either though, it felt forced. The whole dancing and the fight over the woman didn't feel right.

only thing that didn't feel right is how that guy was trying to have sex with a woman with his pants still on. kinda failed there.

Some of the twitter reactions to the first episode are pretty hilarious. My favorites:
@Booshette: I FEEL LIKE I’M GETTING WHIPLASH BETWEEN ALL THE BOOBS AND MURDER AND BOOBS AND MEAT AND WOLVES AND BOOBS
@NerdAndAHalf: WHAT THE FUUUUUUCK?!!!! YOU CAN’T PUSH CHILDREN OFF TOWERS, YOU WANKER!!!!!!!!
@RyanJGrant: Dragon eggs? More like unripe pineapples!
@igobymanynames: Oh God naked torsos and the prettyboys talking about making themselves PRETTY for the King
@mcgee_gorgo: Drogo looks like Mike the Situation grew a ponytail and raided John Barrowman’s cosmetics cabinet.
@NerdAndAHalf: ‘She’s neglected to wear ye oldie bra!’ – my brother
@Miketakon: DAT BEARD PONYTAIL.
@Zesmerelda: Disturbed that Boromir hasn’t washed his hair since LotR.
@jillianbowe: Little person looks like Perez Hilton.

+ Show Spoiler +He did not, + Show Spoiler +in fact he is one of the major-major characters that seems to live longer than average. Atm (end of 4th book) he is headed north to learn some serious magic. Also, he is not prince + Show Spoiler +, as his father is not king.

As a person who watched this knowing nothing it was very confusing. I had no idea who everyone was what role they play, or are going to play. I'll give it a few episodes. Production value looks good and I guesse if it's a good show I might actually need to read the books.

If the books are anything to go by (which they should be, as the series is very faithful to them) your confusion will fade gradually until you feel you know pretty much what's up in two-three episodes. At that point in the books I felt I knew the characters and the lay of the land. Of course, the story is pretty interesting so it turns out predictions prove wrong, and so on.
But my point is, even in the books readers are confused over the amount of characters and the political landscape for a good while until they feel they know them.

Yea, don't worry, even the book up until this point (and much longer) still leave you confused. The world is so big and the story so huge even the writer got confused :D and needed about 4 years on average per book (and there are 4 currently out with 5th coming this summer).

I did not read the books and the only thing I think was very unclear was the very beginning, with the zombies and dogs. It's obscure whether the wolves are dangerous, a bad omen or what, and if they have any connection with the zombies. it's obvious they are an important plot device only because you know they would not put 10 minutes of their show into how young noblemen got their pets otherwise.

I thought it was pretty good. Havent read the books but I enjoy the gloomy/gritty feel of the Winterfell keep. Very sharp contrast from the sunny coast where the blonde fairy prince who'd have his sister fucked by all 40 000 barbarians and their horses currently resides.

Those direwolves haven't been seen on southern side of the wall for a very long time. "The Wall" is basically great wall on north of the continent which divides Westeros and that northern part where wild people, animals and those "zombies" live.
wolves become more important later on because of their connection with children who got them, and those "zombies" get more focus in later books.
1 more thing for people who haven't read the books. When they say "winter is coming" you need to know that their seasons are not like ours. They are not regular and don't last 1 year. For example they had summer for like 10 years and now they expect pretty hard winter so shit is coming.
all in all, I would really recommend reading the books before watching this. There is just so much info in books which couldn't be put into series so everything is explained quite badly. All the scenes feel kinda random if you don't know what are character connections etc. For example, those targaryens (white hair chick and her brother), their family and history is quite poorly explained. On the other hand, those who have read all books have nice nerdgasms because most of the scenes are those which you remember when you read and feeling in series is quite good.

Cersei is not meant to be as introspective and perceiving; one of her biggest flaws is that she is blind to her own place in things even as she schemes with others' lives. Lena Headey has eyes of knowledge and wisdom - which made her perfect as Sarah Connor. She is just misplaced here; I feel that she would have made an awesome Catelyn.
+ Show Spoiler +Whilst I dont disagree with your points, I believe Cersei's flaws only become exaggerated after she and Jaime are split and again when her father is killed... she gradually becomes more and more paranoid. We will see if the actress chooses to pursue this path, which I would welcome; or not.
