I would be really disappointed if we don't get Harrenhal tourney scenes. It would make so much sense to indroduce Rhaegar there and explain his relationship with Lyanna.
Would have made more sense to introduce it in S6. Since they didn't do that I don't think we will see him at all.
Yeah that is a fair point. The problem i see with this is that show only watchers don't really give a damn about R+L=J though, why would they?
When I explained my father about the theory (like a month ago) and briefly gave him the background information, he was like "That's a pretty awesome theory".
And I think alot of other casual viewers would feel the same way. For that reason I am somewhat dissapointed in how they revealed Jon's parentage. I think they should have spent like 5-10 minutes more throughout the E7-E10 to make it apparent to the viewers who Rhaegar was and what happened to Targaryan children after the war.
That would have made the reveal so much more awesome. Instead, alot of casual viewers ended up thinking Ned banged his sister.
That said, I still really liked the scene. Partly because of the music, but also because the acting of both young ned and Lyanna was fantastic.

Yeah i can definitely agree with that. The show missed a big opportunity there and now it might be too late, you should have done the background directly before the reveal. On the other hand, maybe Jon's true parantage simply doesn't matter all that much in the end.
Viper vs. Mountain was just a comical sideshow (even though it somehow advanced the plot to this very point we are now). T
This battle was awesome because we had no idea who actually won.
While i see where you are coming from, from a technical pov i didn't think it was too awesome tbh. Way too many cuts for my liking. Just watch it again:
edit: about the Melissandre thing - how the hell was the burning of Shireen not talked about by literarly everyone? How did Davos learn about it so late?
Because the only survivor with the knowledge of Shireen's death was Melisandre. All the rest who knew, died at the battle of Winterfell when Stannis was defeated.

I only recently accepted Stannis' death, and I am dissapoint.

What about the soldiers that deserted in the morning after the burning, motivated by the very burning? Do you seriously believe that noone deserted the battlefield? Even in the GoT world, a king burning his daugther is a very unusal sight, I would just expect the word to spread. We don't really see them in the show, but there must be commoners living around the whole area, otherwise the nightswatch would quickly starve to death.
@Viper: it's a cool nickname in my opinion. I just found it funny that I have known you for years on TL, as you are one of the biggest LR regulars and I even know you post a lot in this thread, yet I never thought about The Red Viper being Oberyn Also, you are essentially admitting to be a book reader, because your account is older than Oberyn's TV appearance, so you have to be extra careful

Those who left were the mercenaries/sellswords if memory serves me right and they came from Essos. Im not sure how much interest they will have in spreading the word about Shireen... Did others survive/desert? Dunno, we got no such information from the show, so its easier to assume that none did nor they spoke about Shireen's death, even if they did talk about it, the information didnt reach Davos. I dont see it as a big deal like you do, what they did on the show was enough, we dont need any more distractions and weak plotlines for something thats a done deal.
Shireen's death cemented something about Stannis: he was a man who was driven by duty and what he thought was his right, and in his journey to achieving that he had very little respect for the people who served him or for his own blood for that matter. That is not to say he felt nothing about killing his own daughter, but being the king meant more for him than the life of his daughter. Killing his own daughter was enough for viewers to finally realize how wrong Stannis went about achieving his goals. Thats a stark contrast to Jon's journey and to a lesser extent to Danny's journey. What Im saying is, while your suggestion is somewhat valid, its unnecessary imo because Shireen's death served its purpose.
Watched it over 10 times already. What makes a battle for me is the emotions you feel as a viewer. In this case you really rooted for Tyrion and Oberryns death was such a shock. I don't really care alot about the exact execution, hence why I thought the battle of bastards was pretty boring.
You like the actual execution? I think it is way too fast, you don't really see anything clearly which is pretty bad for a 1vs1 duel imo. Sure the outcome and the implictations of this fight are awesome (and pedro pascal was a great oberyn), but the execution of this fight scene from a film making perspective was rather meh imo.
They decided Oberyn has to fight flashy and thus needed a body double and it shows.
edit:
I don't really care alot about the exact execution
I don't quite understand why though? This is a visual medium and thus the film making itself is a big part of the work.
edit2: Just some data, the fight is about 107 seconds long and there are 124 cuts in it. (i didn't count it myself, but westeros.org did). That alone shows the "problem" pretty well imo.

Was it rape? I didn't get that impression. It seemed like a fear/torture thing.

I thought when she jerked around that was him removing her lower garment.

You can use rape to torture, don't see how both are mutually exclussive.
