Plus did she already used up all 3 free kills ? all i remember was that guard from the ruins She is and I'm under the impression that she's under strict guidelines set by Jaqen. She already exhausted her 3 freebies way back in season 2.

True, she just can't go around killing anyone she wants for no reason. There must be a reason for them to die.

I have hopes considering that there has been no LOTR style "pure good" or "pure evil" that is typical of the fantasy genre, so hopefully we learn more about their motivations. The walkers seem quite powerful, intelligent, and ancient but so far we know very little but I would love to know more!

The whole Point of Sam is that he is kind heartet and literate but in no way made for the live at the wall (or for being in a battle). Him becoming a good fighter or even wanting to actually fight when it could be avoided would totally alter his character.

The ppl are so bad at keeping valuable things in westeros :D Valyrian steel, as the name suggests, is originally from Valyria, and as we saw from couple episodes back, Valyria is kinda gone as a civilization. No one bar from a few blacksmiths know how to make Valyrian steel weapons let alone possess any Valyrian steel.

Just like we had the middle ages after civilizations that were way more advanced, like ancient Rome and Greece All of that knowledge got lost due the doom of Valyria, also how to make Valyrian steel. There are a few weaponsmiths left who know how to work it, melt it into other weapons, but nobody knows how to make the steel itself anymore. Probably also because the Dragons were gone and with them all magic left the world, Maester Luwin told that to Bran once. And Valyrian steel is magic forged steel. But Dragons are back now and magic is returning too, like we saw with the warlocks of Qarth. Bit more info about the doom of Valyria:

But I want to strongly argue against the pace being too slow. Even if the pace is slow, what is so bad about that? From a tv series with some depth this is exactly what I want to see. I want there to be dead time in a plot untwisting, because that is exactly how a realistic plot untwists. I want to watch two people talk for 10 minutes. I want the director to paint a picture and colour in the setting without anything really happen. They add value. If I wanted to see an over-the-top rollercoaster of a story, I'd watch Jupiter Ascending or something. To me, what I look for is the 15 year old Japanese taiga drama experience. They don't get made like that anymore, even in Japan. Even with the large part of the target audience being 55+ woman. The historical samurai dramas are now shallow, bad acting and Hollywoodish because that gives better ratings. They used to be slow paced, convincing and gritty.

Now all that is left for Sam to find out is if you do need spells/dragons to get to Valyrian steel, and if so, which. I don't think that's necessarily an obvious conclusion. My interpretation is that obsidian (dragon glass) is probably made from sand and dragon fire, while valyrian steel (dragon steel) is probably made just like regular steel but involves dragon fire instead of normal fire. I think dragons are definitely the key, but I don't think they will be able to go from obsidian to valyrian steel, even though both materials will be useful in the fight ahead.

Dunno about ice necromancers. Also, I'm rooting for the high sparrow, only guy caring about the common folk in this tale of High Lords.

Dragonstone (Old Valyrian Stronghold) is near a volcanic zone. Dragonglass is probably made the same way obsidian is, It can probably also be made with dragons though. It's possible there is some dragon glass used in the forging of Valyrian steel with some loose science behind it regarding the silica (in extremely low amounts) could help produce a tougher blade.

Not good or bad just their existence is destructive (at least on first appearances) but it's not malicious. I guess some of the HBO lore suggests otherwise but it's not like the WW version of history has been told. We all know how 'The King Slayer" carried heavy negative connotations for those who didn't actually know the situation.
