Well if it is him, question is: Who the hell did mahone burrow in his garden ? There was afterall a body there, we saw the bones and plastic etc.

Yeah, he might not be Shales, but I think there is a good possibility that they have something to do with one another if they aren't the same person. This show likes to throw all kinds of crazy twists at you, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for them to do that.

I don't think it is Shales, because now Mahone is dead, so any significant relation is useless.

I'd wager Mahone is most certainly not dead. He was shot in his left shoulder.

My thoughts too. The only purpose would be if Mahone survived as well. Even then, how does Oscar Shales get to be in charge of everything? Who is he?

I'm gonna watch the end right now. I realize it's unlikely they killed off a character with so much development, but Kellerman is not the kind of person who misses.

those were my first thoughts too. Kellerman is a well trained killer, but he did shoot him in the shoulder and then left the body. Which means, atleast to me, that Kellerman did this on purpose. The "why" is the real question. Has Kellerman had a true change of heart? Did he not WANT to kill Mahone or was he not SUPPOSED to kill Mahone? Beats me right now.

Yep, definitely the shoulder it would seem. However, a cop like him wouldn't drop like that after being shot in the shoulder. But also, what's the point in doing this? If they're both still on "the bad side" then they only need to kill those two. Or, perhaps Kellerman is using them to get to Sara? That would make the most sense in my opinion.

Oh, and that definitely appears to be Shales, so that must mean that Mahone is still alive.

I think Mahone knew that Kellerman was going to shoot him.They both know that the asian guy want them both killed,so I think they are in this together.

What if they were both given the same instructions, but Kellerman was just the first to shoot?

why would they be given the same instructions? Doesn't make sense, because then the "company" would know that only one of them would die and not both, if that is what they want

Maybe they wanted to make sure at least one of them took a bullet.

That's interesting. It'd more or less make sense because Mahone would almost 'have to' be shot in order for Kellerman to take full blame for things going wrong and protect the safety of his family. This way Kellerman is in the same position as he was prior (a dead man with nothing to lose) and Mahone stays on as the inside man. Nice. I guess we'll find out eventually

If Mahone is still alive, then earlier character development tells us that he's the one who would turn. He's so conflicted over what he has to do and is the least human of the two.
