I thought that there were three siblings, Sera is the youngest, Akai is the oldest but also didn't have a good relationship with Sera, Subaru being the middle sibling that constantly texts with Sera.

Basically the latest black organization arc (past 200 episodes) is eerily similar to first one(200ish-504) so assuming that we know that next black arc will begin a storyline which will conclude with the 3rd one. I assume the next big one will basically finish letting us know who is who and where loyalties are and 3rd one will conclude it in an amazing fashion.

The rest of the mystery is fairly simple to explain its just that the how he survived is the tricky part.

maybe the whole thing is a set-up to make people think that he isn't dead only to reveal that he really is and that it's possible in fact for important characters to get killed off. Although that would go against the feel of the show maybe, which is usually lighter. But keep in mind that this is also the same series where Haibara tries to commit suicide so many times, so maybe it can be darker.

Only 13 and a half more years to go and you will be caught up with current airings (aka about 550 episodes).
|
Since I remember it coming up earlier in the thread it seems someone else subbed the next chapter of the manga. There are still about 4 chapters undone but if someone else picked it up then you can assume they will be done with relative haste.
I am hesitant to continue reading after this case though since I picked up the anime again and the anime has a certain atmosphere that the manga cant replicate.

I would not mind the anime taking so long if the fillers were usually so painfully uninteresting and they almost always use just the lead characters and very rarely the interesting side characters (I think Heiji appears in 2 episodes out of about 250 fillers).
Edit: Also to note I believe the manga typically stays about 6-9 months ahead so that's not to bad if I were to wait for it to catch up.

I am hesitant to continue reading after this case though since I picked up the anime again and the anime has a certain atmosphere that the manga cant replicate. I can't force myself to read the manga with the same amount of care that I watch the anime, so I can't focus on the intrigue of the cases as much. I should really read more slowly and carefully I guess.
