The missing chapters from the hard working translator group finally surfaced. + Show Spoiler + Though most of it is just preamble about the school teacher case and doesn't have much to do with the following 2 chapters other than providing setup. Aside from showing how Camel got duped the most interesting tidbit is probably about the Japanese 'secret police' organization called 'Zero' that Conan briefly brought up. In regards to the 'current' (895) stuff: + Show Spoiler + I don't quite buy Amuro's deduction. I've thought for a bit that Subaru, the dude living in Shinichi's house, had a bit more to him, but the way they met (crime scene where he was a suspect) seems a bit hard to suddenly smash Akai into unless Akai had been using that as his residence and also stayed in disguise there, but that's a bit of a logic leap for me. Nevermind managing to get Conan on the scene incidentally. If Subaru is anyone more than just a random, rather smart puzzle fan the meeting seems a bit to coincidental though no matter what his final identity is, but I'm too lazy to go find and reread the chapters when he was introduced. I have had suspicions that Subaru is related to the teen detective chick, though. I think she mentioned two brothers (non-brother friend also remains a possibility), but Akai being the other brother seems like way too neat of a bow to toss on top of this package. If Akai and Subaru are separate people like I suspect though (Akai going out disguised as Subaru), some kind of pre-existing relation between the two would be about the only way that Akai would trust Subaru regardless of Conan's "Holmes fans are good people" claims. | ||

Yes but it is not something anyone can do and those two are very talented actors so that's the justification for it. As for who it is under the mask it most likely is yukiko (explaining her interest in the award ceremony) but that still puts into question what exactly the end game of this all is... I mean is Bourbon just going to abandon his theory and leave? However didn't he just get a call that Akai is in the back of the car which leaves you to wonder what is there plan to protect there undercover? This just seems like a decent misdirection but didn't actually solve any of the major issues. On a related note I am glad that this big plot case got the translators back into translating mode. | ||

No. The FBI only have Rena. Originally they had her father and her in the org and that was it. When her father was going to be found out, he was forced to kill himself and make it look like Rena did it in order to keep her in the org. Basically, to keep their mole they had to sacrifice one of their lives. If Rena was found out again to actually be the mole, they'd lose their last link to the organization. Conan's plan was able to not only keep Rena in the org, but solidified her loyalty as well as lost no lives in the process (the black org member committed suicide, and they merely used his body for the trick). + Show Spoiler + The only person to have had any doubt about that was bourbon, and we now know he really is part of the Japanese secret police, so him knowing is fine. | ||

Rena is with the CIA though i just mean that if they could come up with an extreme detailed plan, from such a distance beforehand, that reachs so far in the future and contains so many moving parts just to have one potential mole in the organization couldnt htey have come up with a much more simplistic plan? i really think this plan is a "2 birds one stone" kinda deal and they wanted the organization to think the super-FBI dude was dead so he could move around invisible and do something nefarious | ||

Plus the moving parts were basically just to protect Akai for when she likely was going to be told to kill him. | ||
