Also rap I think has to be over a beat of some kind. If Muhammad Ali had slapped his chest or something to form a beat it would have been rap.
from what i recall the only time Ali/Clay had any kind of back up music help occurred with Liberace on the piano and Librace destroyed the natural rhythm of the poem // rhyme // soliloquy. Probably Clay/Ali's worst effort before 1970. I'd say Liberace wears the goat-horns on that performance. It occurred during the "Jack Parr Show".
Mural Jr. probably kills most albums out today. Manilla is pure lyricism and entendres for days. WAV Files is just a joy lol. I don't know how to describe it.

Listening now, so far my favorite Lupe Album. Manilla is dope (plus I gotta love the not so subtle promoting of socialism and youth movements).
Feel like this in concert would be a like a fire ass Ted Talk. His Jamaican accent is only slightly better than mine tho and it's mostly the African accent that makes it that way lol.
