also yes we will probably see more epic bending later on
about lin, maybe since she's not blind, she's simply not used to always paying attention to her surroundings like toph does
from this episodes we see that she seemed to have to concentrate specifically to find the tunnel; it wasn't something she has turned "on" all the time, but maybe i'm wrong (i don't remember her taking off the soles of her shoes...?)
also remember in TLA it seemed that the characters fought in longer ranges often, with more earth/air/fire/water flinging
in LoK, it seems there is much more close combat, everything is quicker; you don't have time to "charge up" your attacks or blocks, you just have to do it quickly If you look carefully around minute 14 on the filedrop thing you she she actually does remove the metal soles of her shoes. I would attach screenshots, but i don't know how to input images.

I like the fact that Bolin's comic relief was well executed (making fun of the metalbending cop, using Tenzin's arms like a puppet). It wasn't too cheesy or out of place.

Do you think Tenzin and Lin keep failing to protect benders because of the law? Lin said she's going to be doing stuff her way by breaking the Law.

Anyone got a link to the 7th episode, seeing as it seems to be out already?
I live in UK btw.

Find and upload the image with the file browser. Then a link should appear with "[img]" tags around it. Copy and paste that link into any of your posts and voila. Instant image.
The printscreen function and windows 7's snip tool can both be used to get an image snapshot from a video. Ask if you need help with either.

She's going to basically be The Punisher, but with metalbending, and I can't wait!

It was pretty clear Amon was going to remove Bolins bending until Korra saved him. So there is no chance of this.
My guess is that Amon has the power of another spirit being (Such as Korra, or the Face Stealer) and this is the reason he is able to remove people's bending.
Either that or he is one of an extremely rare few who was born with the power to Energy bend.

Amon is a much better antagonist than the Fire Lord would ever be. Obviously every show has flaws (like Korra not acting any bit like any of the other past avatars and not being spiritual and not talking about the Avatars spiritual responsibilities) but maybe they just didn't get to that part of the series yet. Well Aang also didn't act like any avatar before him, as all the avatars before him were willing to kill if it were necessary.
Aang was willing to kill if it was necessary. He wanted to make sure there was absolutely no other way before he went about it. If he hadn't met up with the Lion Turtle Ozai would be a dead man right now.

I believe it is called Chi-bending. Precision is very important when talking about something as life and death as Avatar.

this LoK's focus is making some things that were overlooked brought to light, but in a sort of bad way; i'm sure they'll clear them up a bit more later on as we learn more things, but for example...
in TLA it was pretty simple; people could bend 4 different elements, we didn't really care about anything other than that (even if some people "couldn't" bend)
now it looks like bending may be genetic (or work something similar to it) and we are brought back to the point made in TLA that before bending the elements, people bent energy... ??? and that people learned earthbending from moles, firebending from dragons, etc.
so idk about you guys, i just hope they clear these things up o.o i would be a bit disappointed if they don't, i know the creators can handle it and probably planned it out beforehand but whether or not they make it clear in the show or let us interpret it is what i'm worried about

It sounds to me like you just stated a bunch of stuff we already know. Are you saying that LOK has been contradicting TLA in terms of how bending works, who can do it, and the history of its development?

Whoa that was a terrible episode. Lazy writing, still didn't address the validity of the equalists claim, rushed sloppy bad guy reveal and his "join me daughter" speech just horrible. I don't know what to say, watching this episode makes me feel like not watching the rest

The father talking to daughter scene reminded me of the third star wars episode.

At the end of the day, it's necessary to remember that this is a children's cartoon. I agree with you that this episode was lackluster, and I'm rather disappointed with where the show seems to be going.
However, at the same time I am forced to admit that I have unfairly high expectations for it and that I fall outside the intended audience.
