We don't even have basic cable, so everything I get is from the internet.

+ Show Spoiler + It was great seeing Amon just demolish Tahno, and the fight on the roof was fucking amazing.

I was kind of hoping the pro-bending thing would be an underlying subplot throughout the series, but it ended 5 episodes in. Now I'm guessing mako and bolin will accompany korra on her avatar adventures, like sokka and katara, and pro-bending was just used to establish their character. I hope they end up doing another pro-bending series though, it was pretty neat. + Show Spoiler + Oh and why did korra's waterbending fail? She wasn't chiblocked, and was able to bend just fine 30 seconds later.

I hand't noticed this...but Bolin's eyes are green. Maybe not really brothers if that is the case, or half? i think the bending difference is a bigger tell of that irl siblings have different colored eyes all the time This is true, but if there was a royal family connection, then it is a bit weird...also, isn't bending somehow genetic? How did they end up as different benders if they are related? I guess if the father was one type and the mother another...possible history plot point there. It is probably not worth thinking too much about yet, but maybe something someday. Yes, they had parents from different elements. I'm pretty sure that's been established in the show already. As for Mako's eyes being golden, I don't see why a trait such as that would be entirely limited to the royal family. It could be a prevalent characteristic among the royal family but that doesn't mean nobody outside of that group possesses it. I don't recall any specific mention that "only people from the royal family could have golden eyes". They havn't ever actually mentioned it, but it's common knowledge that Tenzin's sister is a waterbender. So yeah, your parents can pass bending down. I wonder, though. I'm sure there are, for example, waterbenders with two parents that aren't benders. So what happens when you really start mixing things up? Eventually you'll have randoms getting maried and they'll have a random chance of having children of any bending ability. Quadrouplets: one of each. That'd be cool. Anyways, I just rewatched all the episodes since someone wanted to watch them, and honestly that last episode wasn't that bad at all. I've also been rewatching the origional series, and season 1 is faaaaaaarrr more cheesy than anything we've seen so far. You know though...as far as I know they never mentioned a bender being born of two non-benders. They have shown some parents of benders who they never said could bend, but never said they couldn't either. It seems to be a pretty genetic thing... If they could have other benders born, not from genetics, then you would think that there would be more airbenders around, not just the ones passed down from Aang, the last airbender, but they did specifically say that Tenzin was the only airbending master... my friend said that one of their kids is tenzin, another a water bender, and the last a non-bender(poor him) Yeah, so that would mean that bending can be like a dominate gene. If the non-bending gene is mixed in there, then two benders can have a non-bender, but we are still not sure if two non-benders can produce a bender. If that be so, then the rules would be different... Sorry, I am just trying to figure out what we actually know about the specifics of the bending "gene" or the rules or what have you. Oh, and yeah, I heard that too...there was some talk and speculation that the non-bender could be or could be related to Amon on some level. I think the non bending parents having bending children might only work for the avatar. Do we know if any of Korra's parents bend? Also, what distinguishes a bender from a non-bender? If there's a physical characteristic, the genetics could be able to be figuredd out. Also, how is it decided whic element the child gets? Is it like a punnent square where for example the father's dominant earth, recessive fire or something and the mother is dominant water recessive non-bending? If this were true, it would be possible to rank elements in terms of genetic strength. Although we know katara's mother or father weren't water benders, but that means at least two of her grandparents were, and waterbending would actually be a recessive trait. if you look at aang and katara, they had 1 of each child, which means aang must've been half non-bender I think. EDIT: It's been a while since I took biology, do I make any sense?

EDIT: It's been a while since I took biology, do I make any sense? An interesting thing to note here with all the cross emelent parents is the fact that the whole Avatar cycle (Avater starts out as water--->Earth-->Fire-->Air) probably loses all meaning now. I mean if a person has mixed bending blood in em they may be the Avatar when they have X element in their blood but are also Y benders first....not to mention when the gene pool gets diverse enough to have all 4.... also this episode seems to have set a whole magic VS technology theme now (Amons tazor-tech VS the 'magic' o bending) which may be interesting
