I did not read this thread to avoid spoilers, but I have a question.
I watched season one of LoK and I really enjoyed it, except for the ending. I watched the first two episodes of season two and didn't really like them, and haven't really gotten around to continuing with it. Going forward, is the series good? I LOVED A:TLA and it is one of my favorite series ever, and I am hoping Korra can be the same to me, but I was hoping someone could tell me if the series is good or not. I know it is a stupid thing to ask, but idk.
Thanks :D

Thanks :D I didn't enjoy the first few episodes of season 2 that much but I personally feel it picked up a lot afterwards and suggest you keep at it :D

Thanks :D I think S3 was the best of LoK but that it still wasn't the same as AtlA's best. S3 had a fairly random plot but it brought back the traveling that we saw in AtLA. There's fighting in every episode. The main problem is that it's still a bit short so every episode has to advance the plot and things seem a bit fast so there isn't much character development outside of Lin.
The bending choreography is quite good and the villains seem more competent.
AtlA's 1st and 3rd season had flaws too but I found AtlA's s3 rather endearing at the end. The beach and random episodes really started to grow on me, as I started to see them as development rather than filler. And nothing will ever beat Aang vs Ozai or Agni Kai with Zuko and Azula. I did personally enjoy the fight between Korra and Tarlokk though. S1's animation wasn't as good and the voice acting was a bit annoying. Aang sounded like a child actor and Zuko never grew out of his theater acting. In addition S1 fighting took a few episodes to pick up.

yea AtlA definately had it's starting problems but as soon as Toph joins the gang the series just becomes pure awesome :D

s2 has the lowest rating on imdb and i would personally rate it as the weakest season too. season 3 is really awesome, however.

Thanks for the reassurance, everybody. I'll tough through season two next week! :D

that's for aussies and if i read the article right they haven't even seen S3 yet (at least not on TV), so it might be possible the rest gets it before that

Hoping we get it earlier since that's for australia. I am also hoping it's all released at once for us to as that would be awesome :D

Wow I watched all three seasons of Korra before just finishing Avatar, big mistake.

Why?
Did you enjoy the Earth / Change parallels :D
edit: wait a second, water is the element of change, but this was an earth book?

Maybe they felt that enough focus had been given to the Water Tribes as it is. I guess they could have had Ming Hua be the main villain/instigator of Change instead of Zaheer, but that would just make it seem like the Water Tribes = villain factory.

I dont think the books are focussed on elements anymore. In atla it was because aang was still learning the elements, so the books were the element he was learning at the time. In LoK, Korra lacked only air, so thats what the first book was called.

I just noticed something interesting: Tenzin isn't nearly as flighty as Aang was in the Avatar series. He sorta was in S1 when he chose to leave the air temple to avoid Amon, but it seems like his plan for the new air nation is very different from what Aang would have done.

Yes, I'm sorta tired of water tribe villains by now.

I'm not saying that Book 3 should've been a Water Tribe-focused book, but rather that the title "Change" is associated with "Water."
Oh well, whatever

Well perhaps it was time for that to change.

It's actually officially confirmed that Earth book is best book. Especially everything to do with Ba Sing Se. Dat character development HNGGG.

without spoilers, the best thing about season 2 is episodes 7 and 8 :D... keep watching
