Best episode of Legend of Korra is the one without Korra.

I would've preferred season 2 to be replaced by the story of the first avatar.

Yes, was a double episode. And thank god it was, so the story of the first Avatar was not interrupted by a whole week.

Hooooooly crap those episodes were really amazing. On par with the best eps from the The Last Airbender, imo. Lots of stuff starting to come together and make sense, really excited for the rest of the series!

The fight animations in Korra continue to get more and more badass and beautiful, too. Big props to the art team behind this series, the visuals have definitely been the most striking part of this whole series.

That was awesome! The world before the avatar reminded me of Attack on Titan with people living in walled off cities only having a brave few souls scout out the wilds, haha. It makes the legend of Korra look really boring in comparison.

It wasn't that bad.
I think in our modern age technology has evolved to become more addictive. The things that don't give us pleasure aren't used as much. Work was never meant to be fun, but doing it makes us happier in the long run.

This was the booster shot that LoK desperately, desperately needed. Great episodes!

Was this the first time we've seen anyone actually die right there on screen in any Avatar episode?

I was wanting so, so bad for the old lady at the temple to somehow be Azula. That would've been sick.

and really, the harmonic convergence is happening in a couple weeks wtf that's absurd... how did this fire sage lady know about it, but not the GODDAMN AVATAR and her mentors o_______O

I mean it makes sense in a way. The world's gotten so industrialized and so far away from spiritual knowledge. Most people either don't care or are too busy to keep in touch with the spirits. It makes sense that a sage, who's job is to be in connection with the spiritual side of things would know about it.

I thought it was awesome we got to see Wan being trained by the dragon. I'm sad that we didn't see him training with air bison or badgermoles or whatever the water master is. Since the Lionturtles were such a big part too, I would have liked to see spirit bending a little more. Perhaps what they did with the people is all that spirit bending entails, but I had always thought that it was a little bit more intense and could be martial-artsy

Humans learned how to waterbend from the moon.

While it might have been cool, I feel like it would've taken away too much from Rava's role. It was her job to ensure that Wan learned how to master the element properly. I feel like it would be a bit tacky to add on that aspect.

Those were two amazing episodes.

I really enjoyed the flashbacks to TLA's bending once again. Too bad all the bending in LoK is basically flinging pebbles and small fireballs.

Rokus death was shown on screen.

I don't believe Azula could even be alive. I mean Azula is older than Katara and Katara is pretty damn old in LoK.

WHY OH WHY do they use the most stupid 'rings of elements' crap?!?!?!?! Seriously that stuff killed the last TLA episodes for me. It went from the most epic fire battle to 'doh my name is Aang and I can bend the elements into a ring, only while under the immense power of the avatar state because you know it's hard work to bend the elements into rings'.

If Korra uses it I am going to straight up quit watching.
Team Liquid needs more Terrans.

Azula and Katara are actually the same age, 14 in TLA, the more amzing thing is that Zuko is still alive even though he is two years older and a man when men typically live shorter lives than women. Though Guru Pathik showed it is possible to live an extremely long time in the Avatar world.

The rings of elements is a stupid complaint. It just shows that the Avatar is overflowing with energy and can bend elements simultaneously even creating a elemental barrier around themselves even though it's unnecessary. + Show Spoiler +
Did you want Vaatu to be sealed with just air bending or a light barrier? It just symbolizes the Avatars power creating a seal on Vaatu made of all of the elements of the world of Avatar.

Kyoshi lived something like 230 years. That may have been a mistake on the writer's parts but people do live a long time in the Avatar world.

That's largely due to being the Avatar.

there's actually two studios working on the series. all of the episodes in season 2 up until these last two episodes have been done by studio pierrot; whereas these episodes have been done by studio mir (the same studio that did last season's episodes). you can definitely notice a difference in quality between the two. someone from onion review noticed how studio pierrot's animation didn't even include blinking for its characters unless they were talking. but with studio mir there are so many little things going on that it really makes the eyes stick to the screen. so i really hope we get more episodes done by studio mir/

I still can't get over the disappointment that Amon wasn't cyborg Darthvader-esque Azula
