He probably was just planning on using the evil spirits to gain more power.

That may have been a mistake on the writer's parts but people do live a long time in the Avatar world. lol, one of my few gripes with AtLA is their chronology, where there are a few weird inconsistencies. + Show Spoiler [I guess this is sorta off topic] + - When Koh talks to Aang in the Season 1 Finale (or maybe when Kuruk talks to him later? I forget), it's mentioned that Kuruk is from 8 or 900 years before Aang. But Aang is 112, Roku was < 100, and Kyoshi was 230, which adds up to way less than 800 years Maybe Koh was just forgetful, lol- At the end of Zuko Alone, the Fire Sage says "Azulon, Fire Lord to our nation for twenty-three years." Ozai hasn't been Fire Lord for more than 10 years. Meanwhile, it's been 112 years since the death of Roku, when Sozin was already reaaaally old (at least 60 or 70.) So Sozin lived to like 150? @___@ Also, re: the Fire Sages knowing about Harmonic Convergence: I thought about it, and I guess it's because Harmonic Convergence is really an astronomical event (alignment of the planets)... but maybe they don't know the full spiritual significance of it. On the other hand, the lead Fire Sage lady doesn't seem surprised when Korra talks about how she has to close the gates...

On par with the best eps from the The Last Airbender, imo. Lots of stuff starting to come together and make sense, really excited for the rest of the series! The fight animations in Korra continue to get more and more badass and beautiful, too. Big props to the art team behind this series, the visuals have definitely been the most striking part of this whole series. there's actually two studios working on the series. all of the episodes in season 2 up until these last two episodes have been done by studio pierrot; whereas these episodes have been done by studio mir (the same studio that did last season's episodes). you can definitely notice a difference in quality between the two. someone from onion review noticed how studio pierrot's animation didn't even include blinking for its characters unless they were talking. but with studio mir there are so many little things going on that it really makes the eyes stick to the screen. so i really hope we get more episodes done by studio mir/ Ah, that explains the totally different feel. Thanks for the info! On October 20 2013 13:58 Xenocide_Knight wrote: Show nested quote + On October 20 2013 04:43 erkicman wrote: This was the booster shot that LoK desperately, desperately needed. Great episodes! Was this the first time we've seen anyone actually die right there on screen in any Avatar episode? I was wanting so, so bad for the old lady at the temple to somehow be Azula. That would've been sick. I still can't get over the disappointment that Amon wasn't cyborg Darthvader-esque Azula ...shit, I would have loved that hahaha

I meant to add something extra but I was in a hurry and didn't read it. In any case, I agree with you ![]()

Kind of wish they didnt have that " Wade Jin, Jin Wade" Animation style. Though i guess artistically it was picked to give past and present a different look. Though beyond that it was just SOO interesting especially for fans of TLA. You really had to know the TLA well to fully appreciated it. Though it really sets up even the current plot for and epic finish. Season 1 of LoK started strong and finished weak. Hopefully this season will do the opposite.
