One thing to note is that for TLA book 3, it took 11 episodes for them to attack the Firelord on the Day of the Black Sun, and then fail. Then it took another 10 episodes for Aang to develop firebending and prepare to take down Ozai. If they set LoK up for 20 ish episodes instead of 12, I think it would have been pretty much on par with TLA. I hope they take note of this for developing Book 2.

Any powerful water bender can just lockout peoples bending I guess. Hey I felt the exact same way. I wish there were some permanent ramifications for a whole season's worth of fighting Amon, like keeping Lin permanently powerless or forcing Korra to undergo a tumultuous journey to regain her other three elements. I keep thinking of Yue in TLA and how she had to sacrifice herself to become the moon which haunted Sokka's conscious throughout the remainder of the story. Why did everything work out so well in the end. ![]() Overall I guess I was a little disappointed with the finale compared to episode 10.

Overall I thought the finale was pretty great. Yes, the season could have benefitted from more episodes, but I'm sure the creators/writers would agree, and they did the best with what they had. Going into the finale I was kind of meh on the Tarllok sideplot, I thought he detracted too much from Amon as a main villian, but I was very pleasantly surprised when everything tied itself together. Things I didn't like -It sucks that Korra can replenish people's bending. Having Lin be repowered takes away from the emotional impact of that scene, and takes away from Amon's impact on Republic City. I would have much prefered Aang restoring Korra's bending and no one else's, despite how awesome Lin is. -All the romantic stuff was pretty bad, although I'm not really the right person for that kind of thing. There was some potential there, but it just made Mako look bad throughout the process.

also, the 'tricks' that general iroh could do were pretty damn cool and entertaining. the voice of zuko doesn't really suit him but hey, it's not all bad ^^

You have the first few episodes which are nothing more than a sporting event and a half hearted attempt at setting up a love quadrangle to instill drama, i guess. Not really avatar like. Then you have the equalists debuting as hardcore fighters of unbelieveable prowess, able fight through and dodge anyone's bending to punch a person in the face. A good idea, imo. Brings up some rather thoughtful questions. Sadly they're portrayed more as the nazi party and such questions go out the window. Not worry though! There's still the hardcore fighters aspect, right? Ehm, no...they become comic relief, able to be taken out by children. Top it all off you have korra's struggle to master bending....accomplished all at once in the finale? I seem to recall it took ang slightly longer... The show just seems to me like many of the episodes were written by different people who had conflicting ideas as to how the story should be developed. If you can get past the inconsistencies and expectations you might have after having watched the first avatar series, you might find this entertaining? But the show will really test your capability...

At twelve episodes, the plot lost a lot because it was rushed.

First was Tahno. When we first met him, he was a pretty generic egotistical asshole athlete. Heck, he was even a big cheater. But after he lost his bending and Korra saw him at City Hall, he was much politer and nicer. Next was Tarrlok. He was the antagonist for a good chunk of the series. After he lost his bending, he became a much more sympathetic character. He gets a whole backstory about how his life kind of sucked, and you could even extrapolate that losing his bending was essentially removing Yakone's influence on him in a way. EDIT: It's a little weird that Iroh sounds like Zuko, but you can tell there's a definite difference between the two; Iroh's voice is much less harsh than Zuko's. All in all, I think its acceptable considering how they're related.

Compare the character development in season 1 of the cast of Aang's show against season 1 of Korra. It's just not even close with how much less invested I am in what happens to these people.

Restoring balance to republic city, would also be cool to see more depth on energy bending that was mentioned by the lionturtle. IF a deep spiritual connection allowed the air nomads to always become air benders couldn't theoretically happen again.
