Then again its most likely that they just won't really touch any of that at all. I hope they do, though. Korra should learn all the sub-bendings. Jinora should discover the new airbending and get her tattoos. I want one of Tenzin kids to get their tattoos before the series is over. meelo has done it already, the noble art of fartbending. utilizing the foul smell from one's nether region to overpower an enemy
or perhaps something along the lines of extreme precision like how a tornado is able to spear a piece of straw through a tree.

Oh, thanks!
Hey guys, watch out for Korra x Zuko's daughter.
Also, Iroh is Amon. Calling it right now.
Btw my theory: Asami will break up with Mako and date Bolin. Bolin is softer and more open. He's more respecting a guy, unlike Mako who is a bit dense. Bolin's funny and cheerful. But he doesn't stand up for Asami, so he isn't enough for her. She breaks up with Bolin and dates Meelo because he doesn't fraid of anything in the face of danger, and he's even cuter and funnier than Bolin!
But everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked.
She'll become jealous of Korra x Zuko's daughter and turn evil. Then, once she finds out Amon is this beautifully handsome Iroh, she will date him. They'll have a happy family, and their kids will be in the third series in the Avatar series.
Also, Zuko is Amon. Call it right now.
Also I bet Asami is actually Bumi in disguise. No wonder she's so good at fighting but can't bend. They also both have black hair. I don't think that's a coincidence. Furthermore, she tends to wear read. This matches up with the red color Bumi is shown with in the character tree. Asami is beautiful like gold. This is symbolized by the gold on Bumi's collar, next to the read. It juxtaposes the beauty of gold with the fiery determination of a crimson heart (that's "Amon"). It symbolizes Asami x Amon.

Soundbending would not only be feasible for airbenders, but for earthbenders and waterbenders as well. It would be cool to see some, but there's no possibility of it being usable only by airbenders. Well, I guess the writers could decide to ignore basic physics, but that'd be totally lame.
I'm pretty sure any kind of bending makes no sense according to physics due to conservation of energy. Doing the kind of shit that they do should take a huge amount of energy from... somewhere... but it doesn't. There are very contrived ways to get past this (spirit world "energy" etc) but nothing really makes sense. It gets even worse with energy-bending. Right... you are bending energy... I mean what the fuck?
edit: avatar is still fucking awesome if you have a willing suspension of disbelief. Just don't spend too much time trying to rationalise it.

You don't wanna break it down TOO much. Of course at some level it won't make sense... otherwise it would be possible.
So then the Amon storyline will be wrapped up by season end?

It says he's the general of the united forces so I'm assuming he commands the free colonies' armies. Republic city isn't the only independant state in the earth kingdom. In fact, all former fire nation colonies became independant states in which all nations are welcome.

Really? I thought in The Promise aang decided that all the fire nation people living in those colonies were to return back, and those colonies given back to the earth kingdom.

Er, not quite, but close:
The fire nation colonies were meant to be returned to the earth kingdom, but many fire nation colonists who had lived there for generations, even marrying with earth kingdom citizens, refused to move, and one if the colonial leaders even called zuko a traitor to his people and a coward. In response, zuko withdrew his support of the treaty (he didn't believe it was right to take these people from their homes and split their families) which almost started a new war. To prevent it, everyone decided to create a 5th nation called the united republic of nations which encompassed all the fire nation colonies where all benders and non benders were welcomed. It is ruled by the council, located in it's capital city of Republic City, and has it's own standing army. This army is what the new general iroh commands.

its obvious that meelo is amon. We've never seen either 2 on screen at the same time, we both haven't seen their hair, and their names are both 2 syllables. Whats gonna happen is Michael Dante DiMartino is gonna reveal himself to be M Night Shyamalan (both of them have 3 words in their full names) and thats when Meelo takes off his mask.

Wow. You're right. I can't believe I didn't see that. Even meelo and amon's name shares 2 of the same letters. "M" and "O". What does that say? Momo. That's a significant character. So it must have a deeper meaning. And meelo and amon are both 2 syllables like you said! Some will probably criticize this theory (it's pretty much 99% true now though), saying "only 2 letters are the same! it's not even a full anagram!" but hey, the writers are OUTSTANDING. They don't stick with the norm. If 2 names were just anagrams, the millions of fans would figure it out INSTANTLY. So they gotta make it less obvious. But they can't fool us. Not Supamang nor me. And since we're all fans of this intelligent community known as TeamLiquid, you must be derping to not agree.
Also, I can see that happening now. No wonder they let Shyamalan make the movie. Shyamalan, having such a horrible streak of movies getting worse and worse... why would they let him adapt their basically groundbreaking western animated series? Also there was NO TWIST in the movie adaptation! But that's where TLA's creators' genius comes in! They knew it would be too obvious, so instead, the twist is that Michael Dante DiMartino is gonna reveal himself to be M Night Shyamalan in THE LEGEND OF KORRA.
If you read this all, thanks for being enlightendd.
+ Show Spoiler +btw you did know i was joking right...?

Guys you can't take bending too seriously! Earthbenders can "sandbend" which makes their sand sailers sail... but that is airbending right!?
Or how about flying with fire bending, using it as a jet pack? Unfair!?
Benders are just allow to bend the rules as well as the elements You can't pin point exactly what bending lets you do or not.
|
Hey, the jetpack makes plenty of sense. Who cares that it's unfair? So is Bumi throwing fucking houses around like theyre pebbles and taking an entire city out by himself in under a minute.
And I'm sure plausible explanations can be made of the sand bending sails. http://avatar.wikia.com/wiki/Sand-sailer They make little sand tornadoes. Tornadoes make wind. How's that earthbending? They're moving the earth to generate wind... just like how some people move fans to generate wind. :D

I just watched the first 4 episodes so far and i have to say I'm really disappointed with the show. I loved the original Avatar but this gives me mixed feelings.
Few points I don't like: - The main character is pretty immature and hot-headed. Do not like. Aang was much more approachable because you could tell he wanted to help out people more than his self-improvement. Korra doesn't seem this way.
-The futuristic setting. If people are on motorcycles and throwing grenades, it makes using elemental power much less threatening. Normal people can do half the special abilities crap with aid of technology. I really enjoyed the sense of nomad/past life in the original setting.
-The show lacks a strong goal. The original show had a very intimidating villian and a strong cause for a goal. They wanted to stop the fire nation from conquering everything, they had to somehow make Aang a capable avatar and they had to go through trouble to get him to that point. It was also mysterious for him to somehow take on the role of avatar, see how he would accomplish his goal and such.
For Korra, it seems like everything is already laid out for her, she already has a teacher for the last element she needs to learn, and there really isn't much point of the show except stop that mask dude from creating a rebellion.

The creators of avatar released a lot of info and stories on what happened between the 2 shows. All the information is on the wiki so it's not like it's not readily available. o.o Just depends if you have the time or desire to read it :p i like good stories so....
