No, this is not a joke/trolling thread. We don't need more filler posts asking if it is. Remember to spoiler season 6 content, and clearly label your spoilers.

Elsewhere, people might tell you otherwise. How about you watch it and decide for yourself whether you like it or not? It's a kids cartoon with good production value that can be enjoyed by any age and doesn't take itself too seriously (like Spongebob). Has a lot of silly humor and mixes in some subtle humor for adults every now and then as well. The show's essential message is about how to be a good person/friend. Watch a few episodes for yourself, they're about 20 minutes long and free on youtube.

I take it that this is a nice feelgood cartoon then? You could spend 20 minutes asking people and reading answers. Or you could spend 20 minutes watching a random episode and decide for yourself. ![]()

HAVE FUN! | ||

Please be aware that adding "...or do you guys just have a really weird fetish" doesn't endear you in the eyes of whomever you're talking to. ![]() Yes, it is a very pretty looking, very "nice" and very feel-good cartoon. The animation and style is very vibrant with a lot of colors, and the animation style and quality is among the absolute best of the contemporary TV cartoons currently out there. The animators actually spent so much time doing this show that they actually got burned out, and got a much-needed break in the form of season 3 being only 13 episodes instead of 26. The animation style is also a throwback to old shows like Looney Tunes, especially in terms of comedic timing -- facial expressions, hard hits, and sound design is very much the old school of cartoons, and if you want a baseline, it's highly reminiscent of Animaniacs. If you ever watched the previous generations, you know how terrible and arbitrary the music numbers got. In this show they got Daniel Ingram to do the music, and every one of them is memorable, from Art of the Dress which is an homage to Stephen Sondheim's Putting It Together to This Day Aria, a powerful and moving aria in a totally epic (enough to warrant the use of the word "epic") episode to close off a season. The art is great, the songs are great, the background music is great (made by William Anderson - the guy who did the Earthworm Jim song in case you want more name dropping), the show was designed by Lauren Faust of Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home for Imaginary Kids fame, the characters are endearing, it's a very optimistic show in a world where everything is covered with cynicism, and in case you're wondering, we all think it's basically decent. And we have no idea if you'll like it or not. It takes a while to get into. There are character arcs involved, and the nuances of each of the initially almost cookie-cutter characters only start to become apparent if you watch for a while, so don't expect an instant epiphany. I personally liked it a lot from the start, but I didn't love it until around episode 11, Winter Wrap Up. Your mileage may vary. If I were you, I might buy a few episodes on iTunes to see what all the fuss is about.
