the vid posted in the chat sums up my reaction to that pic "What what the the fuck fuck my fuck fuckin what what with the (drop-drop ship medivac) where in the what in the hell?", it's just awesome (I wonder if JJ will end up ever making one himself as well in the end)

but yeah, that being said, I agree with the people saying that we should now probably leave him alone a bit about the whole pony thing (he did say in his own daily thread that he's so busy with life that he doesn't even have time to play Skyrim, so he probably still didn't have time to watch the show yet)

Since people are posting their favoriteponylists:

Twilight > Pinkie Pie > Applejack > Rarity > Rainbow Dash > Fluttershy
Trixie > Apple Bloom > Twilight if including other characters.
Gilda is the best griffon

Pinkie Pie > Applejack is painful but until AJ gets some more episodes it's inevitable ;_; Plus 'Hi, I'm Pinkie Pie and I threw this party just for you!' is my favorite line of the series because I don't even know.

Only as I wrote it down I realized that it had shifted around quite a bit from my initial impressions. I think in the beginning it was something like Fluttershy > Dash > Twilight > Pinkie > AJ > Rarity. I still love them all though.

Thanks to everyone who's posted pony-music in the last 5 pages btw, the music is my favorite part of the fandom and it's always good to get some more into my playlists.

Hey RD fans, what happened to loyalty? Just because she hasn't gotten as much air time as she usually does shouldn't have you picking new favorites.

Loyalty shmoyalty, Twilight and Rarity are best ponies!

Also, I just can't get tired of watching Luna dance or bounce or whatever she does on the moon.

I think AJ is often at the bottom of people's lists because she's the straight pony of the group. She seems dependable, and her personality usually isn't extreme enough to make her stick out as much as RD and Pinkie do. I've also gotten the impression Twilight respects her the most out of the other mane characters as she seems to primarily turn to her for advice (off the top of my head: asking for advice in Luna Eclipsed, recruiting her first in Return of Harmony pt2, Twilight's surprise and disappointment with AJ when she believed in the pinkie sense, AJ being the most patient with FS in Dragonshy). Being the straight man doens't make people dislike you, but it doesn't get you as many fans as really sticking out. Poor AJ, gets no credit.

I'll start off saying that a few more AJ centric episodes would not hurt, but I feel that she has a big enough part in episodes throughout season 1 and season 2 so far as to not be under represented.

I love everypony in this show however as the resident Applejack fanboy I feel I should write a few things about why I like her as much as I do.

The Big Reasons

In no particular order

Applejack to me is the backbone of the entire Mane 6 cast, if you're in need of help, chances are you can rely on Applejack coming along to fix whatever problem you are having, her skillset is remarkably wide including Apple harvesting, general farmwork (tiring and difficult if you ever tried it) and baking. al this ontop of being an excellent Athlete, she might have no wings or horn but she sure makes up for it by being a baller in every other area.
She always takes action, Applejack is no pony to sit around and wait for things to happen if we look at the episode Dragonshy for example: Fluttershy is in trouble, should we sit around and whine about it? not Applejack, she immediately springs into action and carries Fluttershy around the mountain, no pony left behind ;p

There is numerous instances of Applejack's willingness to take immediate action, for better or for worse results (as we see in look before you sleep it can end up with a tree in your bedroom) and since this is a post about why I like Applejack so much it takes the good points with the bad points that creates the characters since nopony is perfect and that is one reason we love the show right?
AJ's relationships with some of the other ponies are the most humorous and interesting to me personally, my favourite interaction in the entire show is between Rarity and Applejack as I believe those two characters compliment each other perfectly, sure its a little cliché odd couple style during look before you sleep but that does not stop me laughing at it! And of course in true MLP fashion the relationship goes a little deeper than just fighting over differences as we saw in the recent Sisterhooves episode Rarity and Applejack are firm friends despite their great many differences in their approach to things.

On the other end of the scale is Applejacks friendship with Rainbow Dash, these two ponies share a competitive mindset as is most obvious in Fall weather friends, though it comes up in 1 or 2 other episodes (a particular scene in over a barrel comes to mind) in this case its the similarities between the characters mindsets that causes the tension with hilarious results that amuse me to no end.

I also find the sisterly relationship between Applejack and little Applebloom to be a funny and heartwarming one, protective Applejack in Bridle Gossip amused me in particular.

Minor Reasons

There is quite alot of little things that make Applejack my favourite pony, you might find some of them quite silly but its my post about why I like Applejack so bah!

That Accent <3
Singing voice, Applejack and Rainbow Dash are my two favourite characters to hear in a song, both voiced by the same person of course - Ashleigh you rock
Appletini during Bridle Gossip is entirely too cute
That Hat
Best mane / tail while wearing Gala dress
Filly Applejack is cutest filly
Great facial expressions, sure every character has good expressions but Applejack has some of the best!
The numerous phrases she uses, "Sugarcube" "What in the hay?!" "Did you spit your bit or something?"
"She's talkin' fancy!" lol!

So that is some of my personal reasons for why I like Applejack though keep in mind that I dont want to put down any of the other ponies, Applejack might be my #1 but every other pony is very closely tied #2 and it would be impossible for me to rank them, I feel kinda bad even thinking about it.

If they ever make more Applejack Centric episodes Ill be a very happy guy, however personally I think Fluttershy is just as due for an episode since we see very little of her in Season 2 so far compared to the others

As much as the millionth "x is best pony" discussion might be tiring since it all comes down to personal taste in the end I believe its a real testament to the characters that everybody has different favourites, it is much more interesting that way since it shows that the entire cast is diverse and strong.

I was playing Minecraft with my best friend last night and he told me to change my skin since I had had the same one for a while. So I eventually picked Gary Oak, and then he switched his to Professor Oak and started making the classic jokes ("This is my grandson. What was his name again...?")

Then when we were done I headed over here and immediately was struck with a metric ton of irony. "Oh my god, I just lost a writing contest to Gary Effing Oak. And he posted a little video to troll the point home in classic Gary Oak style." Many friendly laughs were had at my expense.

In summary, Gary Oak is best username.
