I'm never reading that part again, hope the rest of the manga isn't like this... What arcs do you like if you don't like the Golden Age arc? To me, it's seems like that arc pretty much IS the manga, at least so far. Not much of significance has happened outside of that arc.

Pretty much everyone succumbed to horrid ways to advance the development of the 3 main characters. Guts made it out of that tragedy at way too much of a cost, I just hope the payoff is worth it when pretty boy gets his just desserts (which I'm assuming is still a long ways off). Of course if Griffith somehow "wins," that would irk me to no end and I would have followed Guts' struggle for nothing. It'll be like watching Hamlet die without getting his revenge (would make a shit story). I've read more of the manga and it looks like Guts has made new allies, each with their own unique powers. Things have finally settled down and the manga is starting to resemble more a standard shonen, which I'm perfectly fine with, as long as Miura doesn't kill off his party (and I'm willing to bet he's reluctant to do so since they have a thorough backstory as well, which I've enjoyed following so far). By now everyone should know what Guts is about without the need to kill off more of his friends. Baddies like Griffith still need to die though, painfully.

Have the ending be "everyone dies" except for guts who becomes the world's boogeyman. That would be the worst ending, because it would turn out that Guts is no better than Griffith. Griffith did that EXACT same thing in order to become who he is right now, he sacrificed everyone of his companions.

Guts isnt someone who gets close to people or make any promises, people are following him of there own will with no promises from him the old guts at least would easily leave them behind to kill Griffith

It's a senin about corruption and the cruelty of man. The current arc has way too much flowery goodness as is. I wouldn't be surprised if some characters got killed off soon just for that very reason. I thought it was pretty well-established that the current arc's happiness is just a facade? Like the appeal of this manga for me at this point is how Guts is going to resolve his beef with Griffith. Griffith made the transformation of the world much more suitable for humans and pretty much is beloved by everyone with the exception of maybe that young knight (friends with the young seer), now the question is whether Griffith is going to reveal his wickedness and public opinion goes against him so Guts can actually go against without being viewed as a devil. That's something I look forward to resolving....in 20 years... (The fact that this manga started in late 80s is both incredible and fucking terrifying for the readers).

Initially, I actually looked up what people said about Gigantomakhia but apparently no one has written any reviews, or anything which might resemble that, yet. Wondered whether I should read that but this here has me somewhat scared: this is pretty bad we have lolis who offers to pee on a grown mans face and to show him her genitalia we have boob-shaped sand dunes we have a big angry ugly black man who punch things and we have the japanproxy who are the only ones who can use typical grappler moves "honorable martial arts that impress everyone" so in other words its a typical racist, pedo, sexual crapfest that i thought it was going to be the art style is ok if you like berserk On July 29 2014 13:17 Liebig wrote: All his genius might have been replaced with idolmaster stuff tho :/ I suppose so. In one interview he said that the Golden Age arc wasn't good and that what he currently writes is better than this.
