Did they already show it clearly enough to make the association? I only remember a long shot of it in the distance, and from what would have been a very different angle. I get the impression some things must be reworked a bit because it seems some events from later in the third book are making it into season 3. I know someone in one of the interviews, I think it was the guy playing Pycelle, went as far at to talk as if Tywin dies in season 3 but that is absurd. His death has to come at the end of a number of story threads and we know Oberyn doesn't even show up in season 3 so a couple of those threads cannot get too far before season 4.
Ya I didn't think of the iron islands. I guess they're going to keep tabs on Asha's storyline.

Which without the Purple Wedding can kinda scare away fans for good Come to think of it, they could end with the Purple Wedding and introduce the Red Viper in the first episode of s4. Though that would rob us from the Tyrion-Oberyn conversations which i absolutely loved

That's an interesting point. If they do the red wedding, without the "purple" wedding, casual fans will become very dismayed, and its very likely they will give up on the show. They will need to do both in the same season to soften the blow of robb's death.
I'm curious to see where, and how, they will end season 3.

This is gonna be fucking epic.
|
Not seeing Stannis in any of the trailers yet is very worrying. His arrival at the Wall is one of the most epic parts of the books.
|
Considering they pretty much exactly do NOT show major events/spoilers, I think not seeing Stannis in the trailer is even moreso an indicator that we will indeed witness him arriving at the wall. :D
|
Everyone asking about Stannis....tell me when did you last read aSoS? And tell me what end of aSoS was the attack on the wall? The first half or the second half?
See kid, thinking can tell you the answer!

Reading the books the first time is just one stage in being an ASOIAF fan, you now have much so much more to learn about the plethora of endless things you almost certainly missed and then examine them in your rereads if you so choose to do so. Happy hunting, the series should get even more amazing then you probably think it is. :D

My faith in them turning Jaime around and managing to make him like his book incarnation just became non-zero when I noticed that it cuts to him looking beaten, dirty and screaming on the "when you put a sword in his hand" line. If they are intentionally hinting at the inverse as it looks like than good times ahead for Jaime's character in the show.

I think half the fun of being engaged in a continuing book series is speculating on fan theories. Trying to delve into the mind of the author and involved in the community is fun, and it's fun being detective for a day.

It is.
Until people shut down your ideas and call you stupid lol. Which seems to happen a lot in this thread, honestly

Jon Snow will get some Red priest fire breath to resurrect. Just like Dondarrion? ( the lightning lord that doesnt die but finally dies after resurrecting too often ) the dude cant die. he doesnt know yet that he is a shapeshifter... and we dont know who his parents are!
Stannis will become the Bolton bastard's bitch. And he will suffer. Terrible terrible damage.

It's being ironic, because a sword was put into his hand........and came out the other side
EDIT: Misread what you said, confused when you said "non-zero"
